Started watching the wire for the first time a week ago and I love this show. Already on season 5. What other shows should I give a chance? Here is a list of shows I am considering: 24, Oz, and Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Anyone have any insight on these shows or others that I should give a chance to......thanks in advance

I watched Oz for a few years. Once you get to know the characters it's pretty heavy shit. You'll also be reminded of how you don't want to go to prison.

I loved The Wire as well. You should give Lost a chance. I like it even more than the wire. I have seen every episode of 24 and the to me it has become very predictable. The early seasons are unbelievable but the last couple have been ok. If your looking for something that doesn't require your full attention i would say Curb Your Enthusiasm. Larry David is hilarious. If I had to give you just one though it would for sure be LOST.

I am a big fan of curb, entourage, and southpark. All seem to be going down hill lately though. I used to think Lost was the best show on tv. I have lost interest of late towards the end of the last season with the whole island moving thing. Watched one ep this season and said that was enough. I hear it has picked up of late and may have to give it another chance just because I have invested so much time into the first few seasons.

Yeah, too bad it's ending at the end of this season.
I think it's about time for them to wrap it up though. There's only so many ways to prolong that story, although I can't wait to see where it goes here in a few weeks.

If you are a fan of the Wire then you definitely have to watch Oz and if you like curb then Always Sunny should be right up your alley
The good thing about Always Sunny is that its kinda like Seinfeld in that you can watch any episode at any time, don't really have to watch them in order. Theres a justin tv channel that plays it 24/7 which is awesome

the office is another show I pondered getting into.....I have seen a few eps and its ok. Steve Carells humor has kinda gotten old in my opinion. Evan Almighty sealed the deal.....

Dexter, The Wire, and The Sopranos are in my opinion the best 3 television shows ever made. Seinfeld, Curb, and South Park right there with them in the comedy genre.

Breaking Bad is worth a look. Amazing acting by everyone involved. Damages is getting really interesting also this season but it's a much "slower" show than any of the other drama series like Prison Break or Lost. Much more clever though.
And, I can't disagree with the << It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia >> mention. Really a great show and one of the funniest on TV right now.
