By the way, A little " The Professional" talk is always good. I was so stunned by this film when I saw it. It just came out of the blue. That movie danced around all sorts of things with out being obvious. Brilliant! I immediately started talking up this incredible child actress that was going to be great. Jean Reno would have more serious parts if it was up to me. He was Academy award material in this one. Oldman was perfect. Wish they had time to flesh out is character more.

don't forget a then 11 year old Natalie Portman as Mathilda. IF Tatum O'Neal could win a Best Supporting Actress at age 10 for Paper Moon, Portman could have at least been nominated for Best Actress. Gary Oldman as Norman Stansfield one of the GREAT movie VILLAINS of all time and SHOULD be on AFI's list. just the scene in the washroom with Mathilda and Stansfield should have gotten BOTH Oscar nominations
