Land of Plenty - Michelle Williams was pretty good in it (sorry, no nudity) and the story had potential but overall the movie didn't work very well. She returns to LA after being in Israel for several years to look for her estranged uncle after her mother's death. The uncle, a Vietnam vet who had been exposed to agent pink (agent orange's more potent precursor), is convinced a terrorist attack on LA is imminent. It takes place two years after 9/11. It's an IFC movie so maybe if it happens to show up on that channel and you've got nothing better to do check it out but don't go out of your way to see it.

I found this movie very hard to understand because it revolves around the stock market and I dont know the first thing about the stock market. Having said that, I still found myself hooked throughout the movie. I would recommend this movie to everyone, especially to those that are into the stock market. In a way it was kind of like Rounders if you didnt know anything about poker. Its still a great flick, but if you have interest in poker it makes it a whole lot better.
Wall Street - Charlie Sheen, Michael Douglas

Balls of Fury... kind of funny at the beginning, towards the end not as much.
funniest scene to me was the guy doing his show in Reno. that had me rolling for some reason. Maggie Q is cute as hell. overall maybe 6 out of 10 but funny enough to say watch it.

peter griffin ...was eastern promises really that good? its always on i may have to check it out
It's a very good movie. Brutal Cronenberg violence, very well written and acted, and the story is very good with some good twists and turns. If you liked A History Of Violence, you'll like Eastern Promises.

Just saw a couple other movies this last week. And here is what I think about them..
"Edmond" starring William H. Macy & Julia Stiles.
This movie is really strange. It almost feels like two different films in one and I think that's where it really fails. The first half of the movie is very good as a dark comedy and satirical look at a prejudice society. The second half turns into a psychological thriller with a little bit of "OZ" (the HBO prison movie) mixed in. It's based on a David Mamet play and you can see why. But overall, the movie just shifted too drastically for me and the ending comes full circle from the beginning (2 1/2 out of 5 stars)
"Sunshine" starring Cillian Murphy, Chris Klein, Michelle Yeoh, and Rose Byrne
Directed by Danny Boyle (28 Days Later/Trainspotting), this movie is about a group of scientists sent to reignite the sun after a failed attempt occured 8 years before and the lost contact with the old ship and crew. This is another movie that takes a somewhat drastic switch in tone in the middle of the movie. The first 2/3 of the movie is very interesting scientifically and conceptually as a science fiction film. The visuals effects are mesmerizing and the music and atmosphere really capture the claustrophobic feel of space. Then the movie shifts into a horror movie and becomes ridiculous by the climax and the ending was somewhat expected. Overall, it's worth the look. This movie is a cross between 2001: A Space Odyssey and Event Horizon. (3 1/2 out of 5 stars)
