Last time I checked, the Twins are nothing more then a regular season team. They have not done squat in the playoffs for years and now they go up against a juggernaut at this price?
I was really expecting something closer to Yankees (-225) at least. I just don't see a 3-man rotation of Liriano, Pavano and Baker taking down the Yankees, unless the Yanks just throw their gloves on the filed and have no zero motivation.

Anyone else find this price a bit weird?

Yanks don't exactly have a lot of mojo going right now. Their pitching hasn't been very good at all sans CC. I actually pegged it at -170 or so. I see Pinny has it at -162. My books don't have it up yet.
But I LOVE NY in game 1 at about -130. LOVE it. Liriano is a nervous nellie as it is.....game 1 at Target Field. He might puke on himself.
And when he gets nervous he rushes, overthrows, and can't find the plate.

And this is by FAR the best team MN has taken to the playoffs this decade. By FAR.
Couple that with the Yankee struggles and the line isn't surprising. I'd be all OVER MN if I could get +200 or better.
I said the exact same thing about getting 2 to 1 would make a very good play. Funny how everyone is writting off the Twins before the first pitch. This NYY doesn't have the swagger of last years team; MIN far better than last year; MIN has home field advantage with best home record in AL; MIN was in every game against NYY last year and the series really swung on the horrible double down the line that was called a foul in NY.

I just don't think regular season success really translates to post-season success.
Look at Josh Beckett, he is very pedestrian in the regular season but once you get him to the post season he is an animal. (With the exception of the post season a few years ago)
I am looking at the Twins lineup and rotation and I don't see a team built to take down the Yanks in the post-season.

I'm seeing plenty of love for MN based on the line so far....at least on covers.
It's just a bitch trying to figure out which team on each side is going to show up. MN still doesn't have that number 1 with electric stuff and a mental make-up to match. I'm not betting the series, but I'll be on NY in game one for 3 units likely. MN is going to have to prove it to me. I just want them to win an FN playoff game for once.

I hear that all the time but frankly MIN has won 75% of all their games when Justin isn't in the lineup. He clearly isn't the key to MIN winning. That being said sure I would like him in the lineup if possible. But Justin has missed significant time each of the past three years and over all MIN has won 75% of those games he di NOT play in.

this is playoffs and they are facing a playoff juggernaut.. they need morneau. you have valencia, mauer, kubel, and hudson hitting under .200 in the last few weeks and cuddyer right around .250. so youre telling me this series is gonna lie solely on youngs bat? i think not.
minnys pitching better step up its game and pray that the yanks bullpen gives up a few runs if they have a prayer to win this thing.
