Why doesnt anyone post reasoning behind plays?

Question

In the past we had discussion about every game. Usually people posted their plays and at least gave some sort of reason but we dont do that anymore at all (me included). Almost every thread is plays, record and then a bunch of

crap. I quit posting my plays as I never had time to post a breakdown but I wish at least a group of us could get back to that. I loved it when new guys like Ron_Chains would come in and say he didn't like a play and tell me why or why he did like a play. Someone even came in and gave an agree or disagree to my entire card and gave a reasoning for each. Thats what this forum is all about. I never make a play on due factor or my gut feeling so any questions about a play I can answer. I think there are about 10-20 guys in here like that. Okay enough of my soap box but can I at least get an Amen.

ive given up on that, if it were easy then everyone would do that.......how about if u lose, u write a reasoning behind why u lost...it would kinda make u look stupid (not u in particular, in general)

...i post reasoning everyday, but then again it doesn't mean much when the O's bullpen comes in and gives up 4 runs to let the game get tied in the 9th

I used my buddies name forever before I joined. I understand why you say that. We or at least I enjoy going to the few peoples thread that do provide reasoning. Sometimes you win sometimes you lose but it helps me and others understand all angles of a game.

Glad to see others agree and I know some will answer questions which is appreciated. I post early the leave. I have an outside job so not by computer till late but can check threads on my phone so I am constantly looking for insight.

Why waste your breath when all that matters is the result?&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;For every write-up that contains past stats or trends you can find opposing #&#x27;s or trends.&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;Everybody have access to anything published on the internet. Its just a matter of taking your time to compile the data and put them into sentences.&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;In the end, when the pick loses, and especially when the pick loses, it really was a complete waste of time. &#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;Why waste you breath on spewing mumbo jumbo about your .500 record which might include betting on 500 to 1000 game per season? Thats a lot of write-ups. &#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;Let the touts waste their time to try and convince you to pay them. Especially with the same data that you have access to if you just do you homework.

I know I have overlooked things. Why not help each other? HappyKane why do you even post nobody cares about your record they just want to know what your angle was to get the winners. Especially if you could help me win money and I could help you in a different game.

I hope no one takes this as disrespectful. I enjoy being in the forum. I love to bet on sports and its fun to discuss others picks.

You do good job as well but I just would like to know why. It helps everyone. doesnt need to be long just an idea. Estes I check your plays daily and there have been times that I would just wonder why you made certain play. A lot of winners from you which is great but understanding why you made the pick makes it much easier to play it.

Writeups are useless in baseball with the 15-20 different ways that you could lose your bet. I can write 2 big ass paragraphs worth of stats and things but in the top of the 8th inning the manager pulls his starter to put a guy that has 1.23 ERA and he walks 2 straight batters and gives up a 3 run shot. That long ass writeup wont help me after that

Actually, its the posters w/ write-up scares me. Those are the ones that sounds like touts and looks like they're building a resume to become one. It all starts out with them tooting their own horn before they post picks.

Example:

I'm 12-2 the last 5 days and haven't had a losing day yet. Lookin' to keep rollin' as i have a late night release that is sure to win.

Be back with my play of the day.

2 hours later:

[Insert stats and trends from covers.com and other numerous sites that justifies the pick.]

Through games of Monday June 29th, the Twins had been held to three runs or less in 13 of their last 23 games. Kansas City's Gil Meche is off of back to back losses but he had previously produced five quality starts in his last six outings. He lasted at least six innings in each of those five starts and he allowed two earned runs or less in each outing. Meche is 8-5 in his career against the Twins and he's held them to a .238 batting average. Meche is 27-21 in day games in his career with a solid 3.92 ERA.

This game also qualifies as a very strong play under the Vegas Super-Steam Mover of the Day.
