You dont see the giants repeating winning this shitty division with that pitching?
you're crazy
What exactly qualifies as a shitty division to you? Rockies, Giants and Dodgers will all be competitive. Yea, really shitty division with 3 solid teams and the returning WS champion. Great Call.

Post 18, read the thread before you make yourself look like a fucking dumbass, I said I used the wrong word champ.
Anyways...
Rockies have no pitching other than Ubaldo
Padres lost their offense
Dodgers are over rated
Arizona is Arizona
Doesnt look as good of a division as last year's to me, but hell, what do I know

So reliever's aren't part of a team's entire pitching staff all of a sudden? weird
You should follow Cain more closely this upcoming season, you might change your mind.
I know Cain is good, no sh*t sherlock...but you saying he is top 10 is pretty ridiculous
I simply meant to better compare the starters and the carpenter/wainwright against lincecum/cain discussion...because everyone knows the giants bullpen is better than the cardinals..they were almost a full run better in bullpen era last season...and actually i just found the starters eras from 2010...
cardinals starters era...3.50
giants starters era 3.54
obviously doesn't mean much but does disprove your earlier rambling that the giants were better in every category
regardless it's not going to be easy for the giants, sure they can pitch but their offense is going to struggle to score runs..i'll be rooting for the rockies myself

Disprove what? I never said the Giants are better in every category. I just listed the common pitching categories for everyone to see because that guy was talking out of his ass.
wow the starter's era is .04 higher, yet they allowed 32 less runs in 9 more innings pitched and they held their opponents to a league best .236 batting average. Lets discount all of that and the previous stats because the Cardinals starters have a better era by 0.04 pts so that means their entire pitching staff is better.
You are right, the giants will struggle this year, just like last year....

Rockies, padres fall back to .500 or less, giants can't hit much, they have to have a staff era under 3.50 to win it again. Actually dodger could suprise.

no need to get all touchy about it..like i said that starters era didnt mean much... but all you listed before was all the categories you found that the giants beat the cardinals in so i thought i'd throw one in that they didn't win in
and i said they'd struggle to score runs, that is all..learn how to read flamer

Who is getting all touchy? So what other categories did I miss? Feel free to list them. And I didnt list any categories that the Cardinals led in? Look again. The numbers speak for themselves, as to which pitching staff is better.

all it comes down to is that in no way are the giants a shoe-in for the playoffs..they have a great chance but will come down to the final weeks and i don't think they get in

All the divisions in the NL are about equal this year, top to bottom.
I don't know if Cain is top 10 or not, but he is one of the best #2 starters in MLB behind Lincecum. I think he is a very solid pitcher and he would be a #3 starter or better on every staff in MLB.

Agreed. Cain was arguably more consistent than Lincecum last year, because of Lincecum's bad stretch of a few games. If he were on the Dodgers, he would be the #1 starter. Over the years, it seems like the Giants leave Cain in for about an inning too long. If he were throwing 6 a game and then riding the pine, his ERA would be pretty sick.

In fact - Cain's ERA and WHIP were better than Lincecum's, and he threw 21 more innings than the Freak. Then again, the Freak's stats are screwed up because he pitched through injuries, causing him to lose every game he started in August.

Giants lineup is horrid huff, tejada downside of career. Torres will never repeat what he did last year,Ross isnt that good he got hot in playoffs posey is by far best hitter giants have
Torres is the real question mark here for me. If he puts up good numbers, they should be really tough to beat.
But a slump would really fuck that team up bad. He did strike out 128 times last year, and his OBP is .343, those numbers tell me he's prone to some serious cold streaks. Then again, some players can fix the strikeout bug. It'll be interesting to see which direction Torres goes.

Those 21 shutout innings would make Cains stats EVEN BETTER.....................
Torres is not great, but .343 ob after all the struggles the Giants have had at leadoff, he's the first decent guy since Brett Butler. And he's the only Giant that can steal a base.
Nobody is expecting Tejada to put up A's/Orioles numbers-just as long as we don't have him pull a Renteria-play 70+ games, fill in with Uribe, fill in with another guy when Uribe slumps.......just play 130 games, drive in 70, it's all good.

Myself, I don't like comparing AL/NL pitchers against each other, because of the dh
AL starters get to pitch deeper into games
And AL era, usually about a half run higher-again, due to the dh
so basically you are unable to compare al to nl pitchers, ok
just saying if your gonna chime in on whether or not a guy is in top 10 of anything u should atleast know what the argument is about before bringing up lousy stats and calling ppl dicks
