The Tigers collapse or the fact that they could still end up in the playoffs via the WC?

That's what happens when you expand playoff entries in any sport. It makes regular seasons wins less significant. However there are tons of example of 90, 100 win division leading teams falling a playoff series. It's more likely to happen in modern times with multiple series and entrants now than ever with 12 teams. 

I’ve been saying to myself they’ve been over achieving all season and have no star power. It’s been all down hill ever since they blew their load scoring 23 runs in the first 2 games of that Yankees series a couple weeks ago.

Do I think it's right ? No but this isn't even about the Wild Card. This is an out and out chase for the pennant. The additional wild card spots would spare them. It's about money not aesthetics. I think it sucks but it keeps the regular season intriguing to the end which doesn't hurt the bottom line for MLB. Just as I do many of these rapid changes in the last 5-10 seasons which started with the replay challenge system. But I get it the league had to do some things to evolve with a culture and demographic that has no attention span. Don't count me in that group though 

Who is really good in baseball now? It seems to me that there is not one good team.
