Well everyone pitching here has a legit shot of making the MLB roster or is already on it. They have Porcello, Galarraga, Scherzer, Willis, Figaroa, Dumatrait and Valverde. I really like having that setup. On top of that...it's a solid lineup for what it's worth. And home teams are "usually" solid in the Spring.
Mets -120 (Risking 1.2 units to win 1 unit)
The Cardinals have nobody pitching today that should be a cause of concern. I'm also very interested to see Mejia close it out for the Mets today.
Braves -140 (Risking 1.4 units to win 1 unit)
Don't like this line. I made my picks looking at pitching and lineups before I saw lines. But I promised myself that I won't let lines scare me away. The Pirates are throwing a boat load of pitchers out there again. None who are good. Karstens and Claggett are penciled in...both former Yankees...and neither have ever impressed me. I guess Charlie Morton and Vinny Chulk are the 2 best out there which isn't saying much. Now right now I only know of Kawakami and Hyde pitching for the Braves with a stacked lineup. I think they will be able to put up DD runs here.
Rays -130 (1.3 units to win 1 unit)
I know it's only Spring but the Rays looked DEAD yesterday. Now they are home...facing the same team...I think they can use this to their advantage. Now there is a new slate of pitchers who have to believe they have a shot at making the roster after yesterday's crew game up DD runs. And they kinda have a nice pitching setup going. Niemann, Torres, Balfour, Benoit, Cormier and Wheeler. Kinda like those guys a lot for a Spring Game.
That's it for so far. As I said I don't bet against the Yankees...but I would lean on the Phillies here. Igawa should get 2 innings unless he gets rocked. That says enough. But no money will go on there.
2 more leans as of right now is the Rockies and Padres. 2 road dogs that I'm really liking but waiting till about a half hour before the game to see if anything within the roster changes.
BOL All. Have A Great Day.

on them all except for the braves sparky, i dont know how their lineup looks but i told myself last year that i will NEVER take the braves when kawakami is on the mound. not sure if spring training makes a difference

Understandable. But for what it's worth...the lineup looks like this...
McLouth
Heyward
Jones
Glaus
McCann
Diaz
Hinske
Infante
Conrad

Tenniscapper Now that's a good manager. However...Those 69 loses must have come against his control by who he had to send to the mound. He's not sending anybody good today. And the Mets had yesterday in the bag until 4 errors ended up killing them. Odds they make 4 errors again is slim. And roles in that bullpen are wide open so they are all fighting for a job. However...a lot of guys are out to impress so take that with a grain of salt of course.
G&G You better give me good ones. I need some winners as basketball has been my weakness.
blahblah I don't know why you're down on Kawakami. He isn't a bad pitcher. He had a lot of bright moments last season. In 20 of his 25 starts he gave up 3 runs or less. I think he'll be able to handle Schumaker, Lugo, Stavinoha, Ludwick, Rasmus, Freese and maybe Mather, Jay and LaRue.

I just realized this is wrong as the Braves aren't playing the Cards.
