Tough to get absolutely nothing out of the Giants offense, but no harm no foul. Fried looked like he didn't skip a beat in the offseason.
Pittsburgh Pirates +100
Any time I can get Paul Skenes at plus money or better, I'll probably take it. Freddy Peralta has great stuff, but historically has control issues as well. New team, new stadium, new fan base, new media. Lots for him to have on his mind today too. Last year, Skenes saw the Mets once and went 6 IP, gave up 6 hits, 1 earned run, fanned 6 and walked 3. The middle of the Mets lineup has been overhauled, with Bichette, Polanco, and Robert Jr, but theres a lot of swing and misses in there with Polanco and Robert. The Buccos actually got better this offseason, which can't be said for many years in the past, and their line up has some thump with Ozuna, Cruz, and O'Hearn. Reynolds had a down year last year, so this year will be a tell if it was a fluke or he's treading down.
Boston/Cincinnati Under 8 -115
Last year, Andrew Abbott was OUTSTANDING, and still finished 8th in the Cy Young vote. That's what a 2.87 ERA in 166 IP gets ya. If you don't have big K numbers, you'll never stand a chance. Anywho, Boston has a stud of their own in Garrett Crochet, but he will wow you with his K rate. His stuff is not only nasty, but he throws real hard. He's my pick to win Cy Young in the AL this year. Wind is blowing in from right in the low teens, so that helps. Lets hope the starters can get through 6, and both bullpens have very good back ends.
Tampa Bay/St Louis Over 7.5 -125
It's a summer day here in St. Louis for today only. First pitch will be in the 90s, and last throughout the game. Both teams have question marks up and down their line ups, but Rasmussen had a rough spring, and Liberatore isn't reliable, at least not yet to me. St Louis bullpen could be good, but Hunter Dobbins starts on the IR, and they don't have a structure yet. 8 is attainable given the conditions today.
