Risking it All

Damn...I wake up every night between 3 and 4 am to cold sweats and trauma of risk that have not been rewarded. I've been through the ringer more times that I can ****ing remember and my conscience is still telling me to fire.

Over the course of the last 11 years i have manage to rebuild my life and my credit to some degree, but what is life worth living without some risk? I ran very well in the late 90's to the point where I could give it up, run away and ride into the sunset...but no, i flew to close to the sun. I lost my home, my kids, and dignity, which led me to have to build from the ground up.

I still bet significant sums on certain games during certain times of the season, but this one's gunna be my godzilla. I live a fairy comfortable life but am not where i would like to be at the moment.

I have managed to workout a remortgage on my property which i finally paid off a few months back. This time i have ice in my veins and blood in my eyes and i am swinging for the fences.

The value of the remortgage is slightly over 500k which i have dumped on the NY Mets at a 9/1. The bet was placed via wire transfer at a certain vegas bookmaker.

Now lets sweat this into retirement

Lol idiot move if this is even real which it probably ain't. You could live a pretty decent life safely investing this 500k in any low cost index fund. Guaranteed mets won't win and u lose the 500k. They don't have enough bats for the post season. Sure pitchings great but u still gotta get on.the board against other elite pitchers to win games

No bs and i can understand where your coming from with the argument against the mets bats. I was contemplating putting this on the jays but could not lock it in at the value i wanted. I have no regrets with this bet just talk to me after october and we will see

Mets might not even make the playoffs.  Nationals will make a run before its all said and done. I beleive they will catch the mets.   GL with ur bet

500k on a future bet? Might as well have put 500k on Syndergaard ML today. Why tie up a half a mill on a future bet? Wow... GL if it's real.

I thought about that bet tonight actually. I don't find it crazy, will take tons of luck though. I'll prolly do the same thing, but the Mets to just make it to the World Series AND nowhere near the amount of money you are talking about, lol.

If all of this were true, your thought then is to post a thread on Covers?  Hell no, you'd be doing something...ANYthing other than posting here to inform a thoughts strangers about what you are doing.  You are full of sh**  Hope you get the attention you were after though, and glad I helped you with that with this reply.

The bet was placed through the westgate superbook, and i dont have an issue with posting this on covers, who else am i going to tell my ex wives and kids. Just giving you all a bet with real value to sweat come october.

they don't even accept 50k bet on MLB totals but they accept your 500k on future bet??

Taking out a fresh 500k mortgage and putting it all in a vanilla stock market fund, while not nearly as dumb as dumping it on a futures bet, is not exactly a shrewd move either.  Especially not right now with markets looking shaky yet still quite close to all time highs.  Also, how could one 'live a pretty decent life' with only 500k invested in a vanilla index fund right now?!?  That would only kick off around $12,500 or so max in dividends paid out per year.  So unless you were living in the Philippines, you would have to take out a decent amount of principal each year to get by which is a no no.
