As for the people who usually view my threads in the MLB section, you all know that i strictly play totals. But on occasion, there are times when i see "almost perfect" spots with certain pitchers and teams in situations that i like to take advantage of.....and tonight is one of them.
The O's are getting tremendous value, paying 2 to 1 if they can pull out a W against Beckett, which most of you are already laughing to yourselves, saying "yeah right"..."he's having one of the best years"..."impossible"..."sucker bet"....Ok, well you guys can keep pounding that -210 upwards for people like me...
Did you know...
"Baltimore has scored the most runs (4 on April 27) against Beckett of any team in 2011 before the Phillies, when they played."
"As a team, the Orioles are hitting a very respectable .283 against Beckett ."
"Beckett is 0-3 L3 games pitching against Balt....serving up 9 ER's"
Now, on the other hand, we have the young rookie Britton, where in his only career start against the Red Sox, he allowed just 1 run over six innings of work in a 4-1 Baltimore win. He has been shaky as of late, but Britton should be Well-rested cause he hasn’t thrown more than 100 pitches since he threw 101 way back on May 24.
A couple umpire trends:
Orioles are 4-0 in their last 4 games with Estabrook behind home plate.
Road team is 5-1 in Estabrooks last 6 games behind home plate vs. Baltimore.
...I watched most of the game last night, where the O's jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the 1st and from the 2nd inning on i saw very poor mistakes in the field, pitching and certain situations where the O's looked like a AAA ball club. The pitching staff gave up 6 Home Runs to the #1 offense in the MLB. Baltimore does have a losing record yes, but they have many talented players, including veterans and rookies, and i think tonight they will play motivated after being embarrassed in a route.
Also yesterday, there wasn't too much line movement at all in this game, as the public were just pounding the Red Sox all day untill game time. On a site i use to check public #'s and betting, there was actaully more action comming in on the Sox right b4 game time and it did not move a bit. It was also the most heavily bet game of the evening. Where tonight, I think tonight we might see some of the same, with every Moe, Larry and Curly pounding "cy-young Beckett" untill game time....Keep an eye out...
