* RC accomplishing this feat would increase significantly if he jumps up from
5th to 2nd, swapping w/ the uber-hot Swisher (less of an issue now since Posada has a 4 digit OPS in 6th spot)...

* RC has only missed 5 G's in 3+ seasons since '07 thus minimal injury risk

* Only 19/42 stealing bases in his career which will keep him focused at plate

* Being involed in tight playoff race will ensure he doesn't become lazy

* Never played in an ASG before (selected in '06; sat out w/ hamstring injury)

* Vs veteran managers such as Torre, Francona, Maddon, Scioscia, Gaston, C Manuel & Geren (ex-NYY) ... it is highly unlikely that these guys will intentionally walk him to stop the streak

* Russo & Pena have .527 & .505 OPS so there will never be a need for RC to look "over his shoulder"

* Has 954 Hits right now, thus will reach 1000 sometime in July

* Girardi managed Hanley Ramirez & Miguel Cabrera in '06, thus is familiar w/ lengthy hitting streaks
