Man its crazy how fast if you mention the word democrat or republican how these threads turn into a continuous political debate in a sports forum

As for the original topic you can't count on Trout to be healthy around this time of year anyway so I know for a fact he wasn't a factor when it came to scheduling

Nah — that ain’t why the MLB didn’t schedule him. They are just clueless is all. He has had some major injuries but has not missed the amount of time that folks perceive it to be. For the MLB not to have him highlighted on a holiday, where MLB is all that’s going on in sports — does not make sense at all! Here’s one guys comments about that:
From 2012 to 2019 he averaged 142 games a season.
2012 was his first full season.
2020 was the COVID season.
From 2012 through 2019, Trout Played in 1159 games, averaging 144.85 games a season. Over that span, he batted .308/.422/.587/1.009 with a 178 OPS+, a .422 wOBA,174 wRC+, 72.4 fWAR, and 71.8 rWAR.
Here’s a list of the players with 1100 or more games played, who had either a higher, slugging %, or OPS, or OPS+, or wOBA, or wRC+, or fWAR or rWAR, over those years.
In those years, his 84.5% stolen base success rate -196 steals in 232 attempts- is the best among player with 175 or more stolen bases; his 196 steals ranks ninth.
In those seasons, MLB’s seen 24 seasons with a player poster a wRC+ over 165; eight of those seasons belong to Mike Trout, the only player on the list in every season and the only player with more than two such seasons.
A five tool player hits for average, power, players above average defense, has a strong arm, and uses his speed on the bases. See also Mike Trout.
Since Trout’s arrival, others have put up great numbers in one or two seasons, posted a higher batting average in one or two seasons, and hit more home runs in a season that Trout. No one has done all of the things he’s done, as consistently as he’s done them for as long as he’s done them., which makes him the best player in the game.
