I didn't waste my time looking at lines. It took me 3 minutes to see that GCole was pitching at home, during the day. Enough said. I liked it, and I went with it. Only one game for me, see you guys tomorrow

I've been coming out with positive money at the end of each week following D4Reds and Emerald. Using the "best pitcher" method never worked for me.

I have nothing to do with this thread or the idea behind it...

However, I can tell you one thing.  In all my years of being alive, around professionals, people with money, and anyone who really puts in any hard work at being a true "intellectual"....the way you are reacting here?  Leads one to believe you are truly someone completely different from what you are trying to convince people you are.

The guy did not say anything personal, except make some REAL statements about sports betting.  Yet you took it personal and responded in a very childish, personal manor.  I'm not even sure high schoolers are talking to each other that way anymore.

Fact of the matter is this...line movements mean absolutely nothing long term.  They are no different than any other random trend.  I can say "Every time there is a half moon, and this particular team is playing at home, at this time of the day, this team wins".  And that trend can go on for a long time.  Does that mean it's something that should be banked on long term?  No.  All you're doing is enjoying a short term trend in hitting the games that are being represented poorly, incorrectly, or accurately, by the public and sharp action (money).

The only thing the line indicates is public perception and money being wagered, which then moves the line, to encourage more action on the opposite side to even things out.  How any of that indicates the outcomes of the game, or, how any of you can see how that indicates the outcome of the game is ......weird,....to say the least.

I'm not saying that weird is wrong....I'm simply saying that, you are being convinced by short term trends.  And short term can last an entire season....this is why bookies are around and are wealthy.  Some trends can even last for 4-5 years before the deviation finally shows its ugly face and goes the complete opposite way.  If your system is based on a "trend".....then it will even out.  No matter how successful it is doing now, or the next few seasons.

You gotta wonder why all these "hot handicappers", are selling their picks as covers experts and going "tout".  They do this because it is win win for them to SELL the picks.  And let someone ELSE deal with the ups and downs of sports betting, while they make their "guaranteed money" from selling the picks, and subscriptions, ......and all they have to do is maintain their "55%-60%" supposed "professional win rates".  An idiot, with basic knowledge of form can pick 55-60% long term.  However, most will fail due to POOR money management, and poor dedication long term.

The bookies are not giving "signals".  They don't know the outcome.  They only know the projected value of the team, the projected public perception,.... until the money starts coming in...which will move the line accordingly.  I can promise you.....the line and the outcome are in no where directly connected.  Even if it works 100 times.

That's like assuming, that if a person wins 23 hands of baccarat...they've figured something out.  Or if a person turns $800 into $50k playing craps (using a system), they've figured something out.

I provided some real sound insight into the math of this, and you responded by cursing me out and then you resorted to calling me a tout?  When the majority of my post was systematically bashing touts?  lol

    Yet I'm the clown?

Best of luck to you man.

    To anyone concerned with baseball....

I told everyone here last night that the Giants would lose, contrary to Mr. Emerald's gracious Sunday Night Play sans explaination.
So to lighten the mood I provide this explanation.

The Blue Jays and White Sox game will most likely be under the point total whatever it may be today. I could look and find out but it won't matter.

Chris Sale is on the mound for Chicago and he pitched a great game against St Louis. Now I wouldn't say the Cards are playing their best baseball as of late, but that won't matter either.

The Jays might get two or three runs against Sale but its doubtful.
THE CHICAGO WHITE SOX CANT HIT LEFTYS.

Id say this one ends with about 4 points on the board looking like 3-1 with all the runs scored when either Sale or Buehrle exit the game for the night. 4-2 Jays if it goes into extras. ;)

My other picks for Monday are posted on the thread I just started and are as follows.

    7-6-15
    WSH
    PIT
    CLE
    STL
    CHW
    KC
    MIL
    BAL
    SEA
    LAD
    SF

I figured I'd give people a refresher on the reason they read this thread considering how dumb it's been lately. What's your problem? Is this thread not about baseball?

Congrats on your win last night. Good luck on your plays.

As far an explanation on my plays I have pretty much already told people how I am getting my plays I post in this thread so I don't need to explain it multiple times.

Whatever method you use good luck with it. Like I said earlier I have been around for over 20 years doing this so I have seen the "best pitcher method" used and I have also seen people use multiple stats or try and handicap games for 12 hours a day to come up with picks. I have seen it all. I have seen every system under the sun and they all reverse at some point.

What we decided to do with this thread was another way or system you could say and have had some good days and some bad days but we have won more than lost. Like everything else I have seen it might work for awhile and then maybe it will fade away but we are having fun doing it and trying to make some extra cash along the way. That is pretty much it.

Good luck to you on whatever method you use and I hope you win a lot.

    Ok.

I hope you do make as much as possible!  I really do.

Just hope you've learned, in your 20 years, that anything that is based on a set variable such as (whenever this line does this, or that line does that we bet this or go against that), it WILL reverse eventually.  That's just the math of this.  There is no way around it.

I'm not here just to be negative.  I'm only here to share my 15 years of experience, on how I have seen everything too.  I want you guys to win money.  But, I'd hate for you guys to put stake in this as if it'll hold up long term.

I mean, that's what it's all about right?  Being able to win money consistently long term?

    Emerald,

What do you think about the ChiSox game going under as well as the Astros game going under?

This is again based on pitching details but also the fact that batters on these teams have trending weaknesses when it comes to hitting against what id say is a superb starting four pitchers in these two games for each team.

    Hey Marlins,

I don't play totals very often but based on pitching match ups alone you would tend to lean under on both of those games.

Sale looks like he usually pitches good for 2 or 3 really quality starts after an outing where he gives up 3 or 4 runs. I think he gave up 4 runs two games ago so you would think he would have another shut down performance tonight holding the Jays to 2 or less runs. Buehrle has had 6 straight games where he has given up 2 or less himself so he is pitching very well but you have to wonder how much longer he goes before he has a bad start? Is it tonight? Don't know for sure. I actually like the Blue Jays run line in that game myself.

You made some good points on this game above for the under.

The other match up Houston/Cleveland you would think would go under as well the only thing I wouldn't like about it is I am not sure how Carrasco will pitch emotionally tonight based on the fact he had a no hitter going his last game up until basically the very last batter that ruined it. That might not affect him at all or he could have a "let down" in this spot. Based on the pitching match up alone though you would think it would go under.

Again I don't usually play totals but those are my thoughts on those two under's. Good luck on your plays
