this is what happens when you rely solely on line movement to cap games.

eventually, there is an inversion and you start losing alot of games. it works early in the season and then doesn't later on. true in every sport but esp. in bases.

time to do some actual work on these games.

I'm putting the jealousy aside and I just wanted to see if you could enlighten me on what you look at when handicapping a matchup.  If you already posted this somewhere then let me know where I can find it.  I obviously don't expect a detailed explaination on exactly how you come about your picks, but just wanted to see if there were any stat lines that you feel are important to look at when you go through a matchup.  I mainly look at a combination of the following stats:
 
OBP, Starter OBA, Bullpen OBA, AVG w/RISP, Starter BAA, Bullpen BAA, Starter and Bullpen WHIP.
 
I understand there is historical data, trends, lineups etc. but I just wanted to talk stats for the moment.  So basically, if you have the time are there any other stat lines that you feel are important to look at when you cap a game and/or am I wasting my time with any of the above stats in my handicapping?

pretty sure it is only line movements. i cap the same way. our picks are almost always in line. live and die by it.

Are you serious? Game doesn't rely on line movements. He is usually a factor in driving lines down which he deems valuable. Look at the line at the time he posts and then look at the line 30 minutes after he posts.

A lot of these people are showing how stupid they really are...
 
Game has profited the last 3 seasons.
He is up about 50 Units so far in this short season.
Any serious capper would show Game respect. His results are that of an elite capper, which is why he gets offers to SELL his picks for money.

For people to come in this thead and say they're going to fade him because he's had a bad day you really are showing how much of an amateur you are. You might beat GH on one or 2 picks but 98% lack the discipline to grind through a season, let alone match or beat GH.
 
Seriously Game, do your thing... I and a lot of others have shown a healthy profit over the past few seasons tailing your picks. You dont need to answer anybody's callouts.. Your record over the past 3 years speaks for itself.

he posts out lines that you can only, and i mean ONLY, get at matchbook.
 
And he doesn't even post the best lines from matchbook most times.  But id have to say line movement plays a part, as it should.  There is value in a line that is 10% better than anywhere else.  But generally his bigger plays are strictly straight up bets cuz he likes that side.
 
He has also stated that he likes his picks at different lines, but that instead of it being 2 units maybe u should only put 1.5 units at that line.  I think, although i dont want to put words in his mouth.
 
He has also had like the worst fucking luck possible.  I cant remember him winning an extra inning game, and he seems to have a high probability of his unders getting blasted in the last inning or two.  Although that seems to be happening to alot of unders.

Here's the story, both Game and AJ are solid cappers but if you start tailing everything they do from here on out you'll probably be cursing their sorry asses when they have a losing day.
 
If you weren't with them at the wedding don't be there for the funeral. If AJ drops down to plus 90 units that's fucking great but you'll be down 40 units yourself while everyone is singing his praise.
Same with Game.
