Perhaps he was released because he did not know the meaning of a  suicide squeeze. You dont pull the bat back and then realize you are half retarded and try to bunt the ball after its in the catchers mitt. Im sure ichiro thanked him for that xtra inning loss to texas.

I think the fact that he punked out and split on his bicycle ASAP had something to do with it too. I guess he rode right by the GM on his way out (not to other peddling major leaguers, do NOT do this!)

If I'm the Mariners manager, I tell him "First, you are going to answer to the press if we have to hold a separate press conference for you. THEN, you are going to bunt 50 pitches a day live and then 50 more from the machine until you can bunt with your eyes closed. You don't want to do this, good luck in Japan....."

It's hard for me to feel bad for him. He is still being paid on a large contract that he did not deserve.... and his clutch hitting (or lack there of) and David Aardsma cost me a nice chunk of change yesterday

Good riddance. Aardsma should be next

Great move.The team has zero offense and gets rid of a fringe player to shake up things.Yea that will be effective.

It's true though. Anybody they replace him will produce more. He should just take the remaining $11.4 million the DBacks and M's are paying him and join the ESPN Baseball crew like the other players who are past their time. And JP Riccardi .
