LAD had a lot of scoring situations, men LOB, long balls at the fence and the NYY had some great defensive plays (Edman too but don't forget he tanked a few times).
This is one of situations where LAD could have easily won without extra innings.
Just sayin' I don't consider this a lucky win for FG OV, LAD TT OV and LAD ticket cashers.

Game 2:
I've never been the biggest Carlos Rodon fan. He was decent, but not spectacular in 2024. However, he has been very good for the last 2 months. In fact, he hasn't given up more than 2 earned runs since August. In addition, the Yankees could use length from him tonight. While averaging 6 innings per start (again since August), he seems like the guy who can provide that. At 31 years old, I expect him to have his emotions in check and pitch well.
I am a fan of Yoshinobu Yamamoto. He's one of the best young pitchers in the game. However, since returning from the IL in September, he's averaging just over 4 innings per start. With that, it's fair to say the Dodgers are likely going to need a minimum of 4 innings (maybe 5) from their pen. I think this might be where the Dodgers miss Evan Phillips, who has been left off the World Series roster due to arm fatigue. Phillips would normally get the call to bridge Yamamoto to the back end of the bullpen. Without him, the Dodgers are likely going to have to use a sequence that isn't their first choice. This seems like the spot that missing Phillips could catch up to them.
To be successful over a 162 game season, MLB players must have short memories. It would be foolish to think the Yankees are going to lay down after last night. I have them bouncing back to even the series.
I realize I'm splitting hairs here. You kind of have to when analyzing a match-up with these two teams. However, I do believe the Yankees win tonight.

Correction all - Rodon has given up 2 or fewer earned runs in 7 of his last 8 starts. Thanks again Razzz
