It was a coaching error that won this game. You should feel very lucky. No reason Burnett starts the 7th. Rivera should have been brought in for the 8th no matter what.

Totally different ending and we both know it. You were on the right side of luck tonight. No amount of handicapping can make up for errors.

So Vegas played a mind game by opening the line with LAA favored knowing the public would jump all over NY in a close out game?

Of course the majority would jump all over them at + money.

Not even close. The managerial blunders made my Giradi managing his pitchers plain and simply cost them the game. You send in a new fresh pitcher and the dejected Angels who just gave up 6 runs in one inning to blow the game go quietly. Did you see the left fielders face when he caught the 3rd out on the fly ball in the top of the 7th after the Yankees just scored 6 runs? It looked like he just found out his wife died.

Leave Burnett in to walk the first batter and then give up a single and all of a sudden your team has life.

Fine......I didn't say Girardi managed well.........BUT, do you think bringing in Fuentes rather than closing with Weaver who already had a very solid 8th under his belt was wise? Do you think that a relatively early pull of Lackey was smart?  Personally, I wasn't a fan of either of those moves.

To be fair to Girardi, Burnett had pitched pretty well after the first....it wasn't like he was getting killed out there.

Has Weaver ever closed a game he didnt start? Judgement call to go to your closer, but not to pull your starter with a very FRESH bullpen is just a bad move.

Now would you have said you were on the lucky side if the Yanks won? That blown strike three call to Posada, gave the yankees a extra out in there 6 run inning.   An your right might have been a bad move to let Burnett to start the inning.  BUT again the same can be said about taking Lackey out to bring in Oliver.
