It’s looking like Justin Verlander may have a problem against quality teams. Pretty much a punk bully as of right now. With the Yankees becoming the hottest team in baseball at the moment, I’m not afraid to fade him and buy the Yankees in this spot. Very much of a public spot indeed.

Verlander hasn’t lost back to back this season yet. Him getting dumped on by the white Sox last game will produce some sharp money on Astros tonight…. Assuming some will chase a bounce back spot. 

Severino is being put in a crazy spot. Last nights game was electrifying. He has what it takes to continue this momentum into Saturdays matchup. Crazy thing is, I’m speculating Verlander and Cole will face each other next week both coming off a lost. So yes, I’m leaning Astros tomorrow.

The popular public side doesn’t always lose… I just don’t understand how you can tell sharp money is on the Stros… just looking at the line now Yankees are looking like the right side. It’s too early to make a decision on this one imo.

my thing is this… How does action network know this information because books don’t tell u who bet on what… they only way they would know this is if a “sharp” told them what they bet… it just seems like useless noise to me… I just do my best to get a good number and get positive closing line value before first pitch… BOLTA

Damn good start for any game. There are two helpful aspects after that.

1) Did the line move against you? It took money to move the line, not number of bettors. If a book gets ten $100 wagers on side A and one $1000 wager on side B, that line isn't going anywhere. He doesn't care who took what as long as his books balance.

2) Check the Covers consensus. Like it or not that game is not played by "sharps". The players are regular public bettors (not all, some are just free contest players). So, if 60% of the players like Team A and the line is moving against Team B you have an anti-public play on Team B if that is what you want. That does NOT mean A or B wins, but it does tell you how the deep pockets feel as opposed to the general public.

I had Houston yesterday cuz of the 14 game home win streak narrative... I dont have a pick but for Houston's narrative is that Verlander was suppose to start yesterday but got pushed back to tonight... The same thing happened with Cole a few days ago, suppose to start on Sunday but got pushed to Monday, NY lost on Sunday but won on Monday... Houston lost yesterday, could mean they win today and JV dominates..

Betting against the Yankees hasn't worked out well this year . It's going to be a magical year in NY .
