Here's what I like today ...
Over 8 Houston / Pittsburgh 120-100
Lyles for Houston tend to give only 4-5 innings of work in his starts and Houston's bullpen tend to give up runs. Their pen has given up runs in 7 of their last 10 games for a total of 20 ERs. The Astros have given up at least 6 runs per game in 7 of their last 10. Lyle has started against the Pirates 5 times and all the games went over the total. Gomez has done well for the Pirates in 3 starts this year, however, he doesn't seem to go deep as well. He had one start against the Astros last year and he gave up 5 ERs in about 5 innings of work. Torwards the end of last year, he gave up at least 4 ERs in 5 of his last 6 starts going about 3-5 innings in each start when he was with Cleveland. Good variables to see the score soar over the total.
Chicago W Sox 100-108 LA Angels
Going with the W Sox again. Like I said before, as talented that they are, the Angels just find ways to lose. I benefitted from their lost last night. The W Sox is sending Sale to the mound who has been excellent all year except for one start. In his last 5 starts, he has gone at least 7+ innings in each start only giving up 2 ERs or less. His last start was against the Angels where he went the distance almost pitched a perfect game only giving up 1 hit and 0 walks. The Angels is countering with Wilson who also has been pretty solid only giving up 3 ERs or less in 7 of his 8 starts. He's usually gives them a solid 6 innings per game. However, he tends to give walks and hits with a season WHIP of 1.54 as compared to Sale's season WHIP of 0.94. In the 4 team wins the Angels had when he started, they had to score at least 4 runs to get the win. The W Sox has only given up more the 3 runs once in Sale's 8 starts this season. Riding the W Sox again tonight.
Kansas City 111-100 Oakland
KC sending Shields to the mound who has been stellar this season. He has held his opponents to 3 ERs or less in 7 of his 8 starts. He has gone at least 7 innings in 5 of those games and could argue that he could be at least 6-2 this season if he had better run support. He faced Oakland last year when he was with Tampa Bay where he pitched the distance and blanked them with 11 Ks. He has a season WHIP of 0.97 and an ERA 2.48. Oakland, who has struggled offensively only scoring more than 3 runs in the game in 4 of their last 10 starts, counter with Parker. Parker had a good outing in his last start holding a mediocre offensive Seattle team to 3 ERs in 6 innings of work. Looking at his numbers for the season, he has given up at least 4 ERS in half of his starts and averages about 5-6 innings per game. He has a season WHIP of 1.84 and an ERA of 6.86. He faced KC once last year where he gave up 4 ERs in 4 innings of work. I like KC and Shields in this spot.

x3shift, yeah last night when the Halos went up 2 runs in the 6th, in any other game I would've said it was done. However, knowing them, I had to continue to watch the game because I knew they would do something to mess it up. This time walking folks when its bases loaded. haha.
