The first inning did the damage, and the second inning showed he can recover when Washington does not finish an opportunity. Still, the Nationals have already put traffic on him in both innings and the lineup is seeing the ball well

These numbers fucking terrify me

Alvarez is at 30 pitches with only 15 strikes and 15 balls — a 50% strike rate. That is ugly and completely unsustainable. He is falling behind hitters, creating his own traffic, and forcing himself into stressful counts
