after thinking this one through i'm going to take the side here because i really believe this is the end for detroit. momentum, breaks, calls, pitching, hitting, fielding, it all seems to going the giants way and they are just playing like they have ice water in their veins.
think about this for a minute...
matt cain's playoff ERA of 1.83 in seven starts ranks only behind Christy Mathewson and Carl Hubbel. not bad company if you ask me.
Cain has been just as good on the road this year and in the playoffs. why overthink this, i'm not going to.
Scherzer has been pitching well but he has pitched against some of San fran's players before and crawford especially likes to hit against him. i think the bottom of the giants order will come up big again tonight and play with confidence and Scherzer will do his best but it won't be enough.
Giants plus 115 for for 5 units.
