Singer had a 2.63 ERA in 11 home starts last year with Trevino as his catcher, but a 4.97 ERA in 5 home starts when Trevino wasn't catching him. He's was also better in day games with a day ERA of 2.96 compared to 4.90 at night (innings about equal). That's been the case for every year but one in his career.
Gray on the other hand pitched to a 5.00 ERA last year on the road and the heart of the Cincy order (McClain, De La Cruz, Suarez and Steer) are a combined 18/35 (.514) against Gray. Narvaez is also new to him although Gray will probably call his own game.
I'm not saying Singer is anything special, but he's at his best with Trevino (and during the day) and I think there's value here.
