Now, we get to the real fun stuff: Welterweight title showdown between Tyron Woodley and Demian Maia. Woodley looking to prove himself. Maia looking for gold in possibly his final shot at it.

Let's not forget that Maia last fought on May 13. While he certainly earned this welterweight title shot, the UFC did him no favors by such a short turnaround.

Maia the last great specialist in UFC. Let's see if his incredible grappling and jiu-jitsu skills can lift him to a UFC title at 39.

R1: Maia's left eye is almost swollen from that early takedown attempt as he absorbed a strike. This could prove to be a huge factor.

Maia's corner: "He's trying to catch you coming in. When he explodes you need to come at him straight. Go for the single and try to get his hip under control. He's going to get tired."

R2: They trade punches. Good right hand from Woodley as Maia backpedaled. Maia's left eye remains swollen. Woodley avoids a takedown attempt.

R2: The pace slows once again as they paw with jabs. Counter right hand hits for Woodley. Great takedown defense again from the champ to deny Maia.

R2: Crowd unhappy as the action stalls. This is very much a chess match. Right hand to the body from Woodley. Overhand left to the chest from Maia.

ROUND 3: Maia very aggressive early. Woodley easily avoids a takedown.

R3: Crowd beginning to boo. Woodley landing just enough punches to make Maia stop attacking him but the champ hasn't returned to an aggressive posture yet.

R3: Maia bleeding from the bridge of his nose. Give Woodley another round of stuffing takedowns and mixing in right hands. It's far from exciting but it's effective and it's what you need to do in order to keep Maia in check.

R4: Woodley escapes again. Too easy. Maia not throwing enough strikes despite constantly coming forward.

I'm glad it went over 2.5 rounds at even money. It was my chase wager.

This fight is a joke. Maia can't do anything on the feet, so he goes for these half-arsed single-legs, against a guy that has the best take down defense in the division, in history! You have to exchange to set up take downs. No sweat. I'm pulling for Woodley. Didn't bet it though. Pulling as a fan.

ROUND 5: Very aggressive takedown attempt from Maia to open but Woodley fights it off twice

R5: Woodley lands a pair of jabs to keep Maia away. The crowd hates this fight.
