Honestly, no money on the fight and if you do bet on the MMA, you should always bet the dog at plus money. Too much shit can happen in these fights to not take the dogs.

Great win for Lesnar. All I'm saying is it goes to show you how good the UFC heavyweight division is for a guy who was 1-1 (UFC) coming into the fight is now considered the champ. To me that is ludicrous. And to hear Rogan talk of Brock Lesnar as if he was the next Ali is crazy.

I'm sorry you lost 20 cents on your centsports account because you took Couture.  You obviously don't know jack shit about MMA.  Quit bringing up boxing already, NO ONE CARES! That sport is done and has been for quite some time.  Go away now you don't belong here.

I understand your point, and you're right the UFC heavyweight division is absurd.  Lesanr is a huge moneymaker for the UFC and dana wants him to be the champ right now.  Couture (god bless him) was set up to lose this fight from the beginning.  I mean he is 45 years old and 60 points minus Lesnar but mofo's LOVE him.  Having him beat Randy was Dana;s way of legitimizing him, but mark my words... he will lose to big nog

Just because pro wrestling is scripted doesn't mean that the 'actors' don't have an incredible amount of athleticism. Are you the guy who sits in the back row of the movies and screams, "Hey everybody this movie is fake."

Big Nog has to get by Frank Mir before he fights Lesnar which isn't a for sure thing.
 
 
Next, say he does beat Mir, Nog is known to take an enormous amount of shots then hang in there and get a submission.  But he has never faced someone with the power of Lesnar.  If Tim Sylvia pretty much destroyed Nog until he got caught, I tend to think if Lesnar lands the same amount of bombs, Nog may not last.
 
BTW, Da Kid is a jack ass that is starving for attention that is one of the last few fans that hangs on to boxings last nut.

This thread is pretty funny. Just a few things, Brock has a very high wrestling background. Not that WWE crap, real wrestling. You don't think he was making millions and millions of dollars in the WWE? You don't think he was the next big thing for them? Of course he was, but he loved fighting. Didn't want to do that fake stuff anymore so he went into training to get into the UFC. You can tell even in the WWE that he just loved fighting. He had this look on him whenever he really got hit (the few times that happens in the WWE) but you can tell he enjoyed trading blows and just fighting. I give him a lotta props for going in there with a proven guy in Randy, who was probably top 3 heavyweight in the world, and really dominating him. Randy has fought guys bigger in weight, but no one, probably in the world, has the speed and agility to go with that brute strength in power. Brock came into a world that mixes 15-20 different fighting styles and went straight for the proven guys. He gets my props, and please don't compare him to Kimbo. Kimbo had no real background in anything except street fighting which anyone can do. Don't knock his hustle, he made his money and thats the end of his story.
 
As for boxing being compared to MMA, you just can't do it. MMA is a bunch of different art forms into one fight. Boxing is just one. That is why MMA is building by the event, and Boxing is getting less and less publicity. Boxing is an old sport and will always have its following, but the fact that you see the same thing for 12 rounds, people are attracted to MMA cuz you just don't know whats going to happen.

popinjay hits the nail on the head...NO WAY it was fixed, and 15years younger and 45LBs bigger...why would anyone want to bet Couture??  Yeah, he WAS a great fighter but this looked to me like one last payday so he can retire like he should...
I had the New Champ-150 and was never worried.....

Actually Brock Lesnar left the WWE to pursue a NFL career, not for MMA.  The traveling is also was a main reason as he was away from home over 300 days a year. 
 
After his NFL dream died, he went and wrestled in Japan.  After a while, he decided he wanted to really fight and was offered a nice contract by Dana White.  If he was to win, he would make even more money.  Although he may not make as much guaranteed as in the WWE, he'll have much more freedom and still make a nice living.  If he fights 2 or 3 times a year, he can make 2-3 million including endorsements.
 
Many people don't know this, but the tattoo of the sword just under Brocks neck represents how he felt witht the pressure of WWE and other wrestling organizations.  A knife to his throat feeling which he couldn't take, thus how he ended up in MMA besides the above mentioned.

so if you limit an MMA fighter to one weapon in his arsenal against someone who has trained specifically for that one weapon then of course the person that has trained in just boxing has the advantage stop being retarded.
 
In an MMA fight who wins
 
if you think the MMA fighter will just stand and be punched you are a dummy, 
 
remember that guy that fought Ali back in the day (one of the first MMA vs. Boxing fights) what did he do he lied down on his back for the entire fight and Ali was useless.

First, that guy was Antonio Inoki and he was a Japanese wrestler, not a MMA guy.

thats fine, I was comparing how  styles match up,  good info though,  I was just trying to illustrate how easily a boxers tools can be mitigated in an MMA style fight, or in this case a cross discipline styled fight,
