Had a really awful UFC 139, havent lost that much at UFC in a while. Lost a bit on bowles, lost a single and a parlay i would of won if story had won but Lost mostly on Cung, was very confident in this pick mostly because i was fading wandy who has not looked good in almost all his fights in the UFC. The line started at -111 when i got it thn hovered around -150 then i checked pinnacle around 20 minutes before the fight and the odds were a massive -219 so a lot of people(public) or some big sharps bet Cung to raise that line bigtime  but were hugely mistaken...

Awell, back to the drawing board..

Bisping is my pick, i jumped on the line early at -182, i think the line is now around -200 or a bit more at places...

Ill probably make some late picks later..

I will say this though... This has been brought up many times in this forum over the years and i usually always follow it or i really take it into account but i left all of that out when i took cung. Cung looked to be getting tired a bit  late 1st round, 2nd round especially when he was taking some hits which makes things worse. Bottom line, try to stay away from taking long layoff fighters. Awell...

I'd be lying if I said I haven't ignored a layoff before on a fighter I really liked to win.  I thought Cung Le looked pretty bad at the weigh-ins, and yeah I can't believe that line kept going up and up.

Luckily the layoff factor will go in your favour this time, as Miller will have not fought for 1 year and 3 months when he fights Bisping!

I'd love Mayham to win as I don't care for Bisping.

But I don't see it.  Bisping will out strike and out point any mediocre striker, which Mayham is. 

As for the grappling, Bisping is extremely tough to take and then keep down.  He defended Rashad Evans' wrestling decently...in a time when Bisping was half the fighter he is now and Rashad was extremely wrestling based.  So I don't really see how Mayham gets TDs, and even if he does, I don't see how he keeps a guy like Bisping down.  Bisping is no slouch on the ground.  His problem is dealing with aggressive power strikers.  But Mayham just isn't a good enough wrestler to wrestle his way to a win.

mayhem trains at kings mma with better training partners than bisping. im sure his wrestling has vastly improved under munoz's tutelage.  bisping does have the better stand up but i could see mayhem winning via sub.  mayhem almost had shields sleeping, but shields got saved by the bell.

I just think Bisping's TDD has been proven.  Even early in his career.  He is twice the fighter now. 

I don't see 1 good sub win on Mayham's record.  They are either cans or old crusty men.

Agreed Jonny.  Bisping will dominate the standup doing what he does best, and I've seen nothing that makes me think Miller will take down and submit him. 

And this is 5 rounds right?

I hate Bisping, but i really like him to win here, its a strange feeling putting money on someone you can't stand but i think that makes it a stronger pick, because your not just blindly betting someone your a fan of. you will see allot of people bet against him because they don't like the guy but the more you look into it-

I agree with Nog and Bisping, but I'm gonna go Lesnar - he looks finally healthy to me...

my thoughts exactly - Bisbing has no class, and I'm sure after he wins (if he does) he'll act like an idiot like he did vs rivera. But I just don't see how Mayhem wins this matchup. His standup isn't near as good, and i don't think the fight hits the mat

I still think we were on the right side, as dumb as that sounds. Silva got rocked by a half assed spinning backfist. Le should have been able to finish there in the first round. Anyone else would have finished there. I'll be fading Wanderlei if he fights again.

i lost a lot on cung, i still think it was the right play too though... And like you, i will definitely be betting hard against wandy again, hopefully it doesnt bit me in the ass..

I'm not trying to bash anyone here.  And you guys have been betting longer than I have. 

But how is a favorite, who hadn't fought in 1.5 years, hadn't faced anyone...who lost....the right side? 

Just maybe everyone got waaay to carried away with Wandy's chin being so bad.  In 6 UFC fights he was KO'd by Rampage and Leban (perhaps 2 of the P4P hardest punchers in the UFC)  Then before that Mirko and Hendo (2 of the most powerful strikers of all time).

Yea, his chin isn't what it was.  At this many fights no one's is.  Maybe Hendo.  But he has been getting KO'd by some of the hardest hitting AND BEST fighters in all of the world.  Le hasn't beat anyone good ever, hasn't stopped a guy in the first round since his 3rd fight. 

Maybe I'm just a big Wandy fan.  But I think I logically made sense there.  Le is a 40 year old movie star who throws flashy kicks and has never beat anyone in teh world.  Wandy as the dog vs. a guy like that cannot be the wrong side....in my opinion.  Wandy puts his heart and soul 100% into fighting.  Le never has at an MMA level, and hadn't fought in 1.5 years.  Every aspect almost was favoring SIlva.

^^^ Yes sir, agreed.  It's not like Wanderlei got lucky or anything.  In round 1 he got dropped by that spinning backfist but was on his feet a SECOND later and recovered, avoided the high kick perfectly and went on the counter attack.  I wouldn't put Silva in any auto-fade lists either, it's all about his opponent.

Took Bisping at -201, the line's dropped some since then though   Oh yeah, and this fight is confirmed 5 rounds.

I was shocked Silva pulled that out. He has looked so old since Pride.  Bisping is a prick so I won't bet on him, but I think he wins. GL

Looks like you're smartly betting with your head rather than your heart on this one... I think you're ultimately on the right side


Or maybe it's just me.  I think Bisping's got a distinct edge, but boy did he make a real ass out of himself on the show and I would love to see mayhem give him a good old fashioned beatdown - so that bisping would have to wait to take that long flight back across the pond becuase of a nice concussion!
