I chased in the main event on this one. Big bets on Michelle Waterson saved an awful card for me to limit losses to only -3.27 units.

So you were just down $1500 on the night and conveniently added in some big bets to win $1200 on Waterson at the end, but never posted those plays? Then come in and add it to your record for the night and act like you didn't get slaughtered on that card? lol what good does that do anyone on here except for you? You seem to have a lot of miraculous secret "live" bets that you never post, that win, and then you add them to your list of plays like anyone else could ever have possibly tailed them. I don't get it lol. Whatever floats your boat I guess

What's not to get? I posted one of the two big Michelle Waterson bets to win $500 pre-fight if you notice and then chased pretty hard while watching the fights live shortly before the main event. I don't like chasing that hard, as it's awfully risky, but I do it once in a while for better or worse. I'm not a tout or selling picks, so I'm not expecting or wishing anyone to tail me, this is just a record, posted multiple places online, of my bets and results.

If such a thing is allowed, I could actually post a link to a couple of other popular MMA/gambling forums online where I posted my big Waterson to win $700 bet with this same username, time stamped before the fights went off if that would satisfy your curiosity. I've always posted my losing live bets too. Covers doesn't have a play by play thread where people participate as the card goes off so I don't usually make it back here until after the card is over to tally up the results.

I understand you're not a tout selling picks and all that jazz, but it just seems a bit silly to come back after the event is over and be like "oh yea, I was down $1500 on my posted plays but luckily I just chased and threw a ton of live bets down and doubled up on the last fight and minimized my losses." Sorry to anyone that tailed everything I initially posted and lost, but at least I didn't lose very much because I made a bunch of late live/chase plays that nobody on here could follow. I've never seen a single other person on this site do anything like that, but whatever, it's your choice. Just thought it was a bit shady

People shouldn't be blindly tailing other posters anyway. I'll try to make an effort to post my late bets and live in-play bets during the card like I do on some other forums that have an active play by play thread. It's a bit difficult to circle back here in the moment though, especially with the in-play bets, because bettors usually only have literally ten or twenty seconds to refresh the page at 5Dimes or wherever they have odds available between rounds to take advantage of these lines. Sometimes mere seconds elsewhere to hit live lines.

Not to mention I'm usually multi-tasking between multiple tabs on my laptop while keeping one eye on the fights on tv or my desktop because I'm watching lines at a half dozen different sportsbooks for late movement, two or three of which may have live lines and then checking a couple different forums with active threads that I'm posting at plus two different live chats on both IRC and Discord talking about the fights and odds in real time with other bettors as we watch the fights.

Well that's fine, but that is kind of my point. Posting those live plays wouldn't help anyone on here because nobody would have enough time to play them. So why even post those plays after the fact? They didn't benefit anyone on here other than yourself. Unfortunately, there are lots of people on here who blindly tail someone who they think has a good record or they trust.

That's why I give people a hard time about updating their records after losing nights. Some people may only see the results of the profitable events and get sucked into following and losing a ton, thinking they are riding some sort of hot streak. Also, you don't post any type of analysis of any sort on any of the fights. So what is the point of posting on here if you don't think people might want to blindly tail you? They don't have insight or analysis to go off of, so if they are looking for some action, all they can do is just follow the bets that you posted. Then that goes back to it being weird that you chase or post all of these live bets after the fact, that nobody else got to tail, and then you have a winning night or a small losing night, while someone else that followed your plays had a big losing night. But again, whatever, it's your thread, you can do what you want. It just seemed a bit silly to me

I personally just don't believe that it makes sense to only recognize pre-fight bets as legitimate and then supposedly everyone just goes completely hands off during the cards like they are helpless to wager any further. In my mind as a recreational bettor, I think why would you want to do that? Half the fun and oftentimes some of the best betting opportunities are derived from wagering in the moment. I'm able to document my live plays elsewhere where there is a live play-by-play thread or a live chat, but we don't really have that kind of interaction here.

It's just an inconvenient reality that it's practically impossible for someone to tail a last minute bet spurred on by late line movement or a live bet made in haste between rounds, even if it gets posted in a chat in real time. At the end of the card the money I make either way is the same and I post my same results calculated to the penny everywhere I post.  I think people would be wise to make up their own minds on their own bets and keep this in mind if they are reading mine.

Yea, I agree, it's practically impossible for someone to tail a last minute bet spurred on by late line movement or a live bet made in haste between rounds, even if it gets posted in a chat in real time. That's why it's silly to even bother with including them in your overall tally at the end of the night. Nobody benefited from it but yourself. And like I said, it just looks a bit shady when all of your posted plays tank and then you swoop in at the very end and say your night was saved by throwing another $1,000 on some live play or chase play. But again, who cares at this point. I just thought it was silly and wanted to say something. No need to continue the back and forth. Good luck on your plays next weekend and Merry Xmas
