We went through this pattern for an ENTIRE SUMMER..back in 2002 this happened every day..open up higher and sell into it for the rest of the day and finish with strong volume at lows of the day.
This kind of action makes me want to sit on the sidelines or go against stocks breaking down.
Notice stocks like AMZN, AAPL, even GOOG etc starting to break down..
i agree but the problem is u need full option level trade authorization to do this. At td i only have cc and long option authorization
We need to start that thread, the breaking technical levels thread and start making some money shorting and buying puts.......

But 2002 was smack in the middle of a pretty bad bear run. Not really the same at the moment. I suppose we may be starting a bear run, but it's been pretty good the last 6 months, 12 months, 18 months. In 2002 it had been dreadful for awhile.

Yeah but the market ramped off the 2001 lows which were quite severe..
Summers usually arent good for the market and trading patterns are what
I look for. I look to see where the market is going and how it gets
there..
Thats why I have been on the sidelines even with this drop lately..we havent broken trends just yet, but we are right there..
Plus the lame duck year of a US president has been very bearish with the unknown new person going into office.
I think a drop in the markets next year should be strong and wide
spread..I think fair value of the DOW is 10k to 10.5k and the NAZ isnt
as bad, but 2k on the Naz would be fine..
The current market PE multiples come on the back of huge economic
expansion and some down right dirty Fed flooding of our currency..other
countries are snapping up our goods because our currency is in the
shitter..if and when the Fed stops swamping the market with greenbacks,
that foreign investment and buying will go away..
People dont understand the power the Fed has to control the economic
expansion or contraction..especially since they stopped reporting
M3..funny how it happened right on the cusp of this expansion..

decent news for spec its up 88 cents in after hours . i had 3 k shares stock dumped all day long so towards the end i got nervous and sold 1k . this is what i hate about stocks u watch it all day going down down down then bam the news is good right back up. Logic has absolutely no place in the stock market. Being illogically stupid would make you the most money.

Spectrum Control, Inc. (Nasdaq: SPEC) reports Q2 EPS of $0.20, 2 cents better than estimates. Revenues were $33.6 million vs. $33.1 million consensus. (NOTE - only 1 analyst)
"Based on our current assessment of customer demand and our existing customer order backlog, we presently expect our 2007 third quarter sales to be $34.5 to $35.5 million. Based on this shipment level, and continued improvements in operating margin driven by our new State College ceramic manufacturing facility, we expect our 2007 third quarter earnings to be approximately 22 to 23 cents per share, which would represent an increase of over 57% from the comparable period of 2006. Beyond the third quarter, we firmly believe that our Company is strategically positioned for dynamic growth and greater profitability." (Q3 revenue consensus is $35 million and EPS consensus is $0.20)

I feel like AMZN will have a huge drop in one day, this will
come in the next 5 trading days. I'm betting on a 3 point drop in
one day coming up. I will hold strong on my puts and sell into
some strength (or weakness, however you say it LOL).

I have Market Edge if you want I can copy and paste there opinions on particular stocks. In my opinion it seems that they are bullish on every stock that has gone up and bearish on the rest. Not to over simplify things though.

what draws me is the huge dividend the fact that its dropped from 109 to 65 its oversold, the pe is pretty low and i like the business model they give strategic advice to 80 percent of the fortune 500 companies in the us.
