The new Belmont is being touted as the most advanced of all the racing venues & it should be after the huge investment made on the property. Forever Young is the star of the opening day card in Race 5. The dress code will be strictly enforced on all levels of the track separating degenerates from highfalutin folks. We'll see how long that lasts on a rainy winter day in February when only the diehards show up to the track. Should interesting. Got a couple of stable plays today.
CHURCHILL RACE 10 #9 WINNING MATTERS ML 7/2..this girl is still a Maiden after 7 tries. Throw out her last & she's right there.
PARX RACE 13 #5 IRON ORCHARD ML 12-1 & #4 ALWAYS A RUNNER
""""""""""""""14 #2 IRON HONOR ML 5-1
Not really impressed with the Saturday card @ Belmont but have to take another look. Many of my stable plays are taking a break from action before they head down here for the winter.

Manny won his 1st on the card & Shug takes the early double for a tidy 96 bucks.
Race 3 is another MSW for 2 yr old fillies. A bunch of 1st timers here. #3 closed a little in her only try @ Monmouth. #8 was never in her 1st try. Everyone else has never raced.
Ememy, meany, manny, mo. Early money on #9

There's early money (1st flash on the tote board; usually owner money) & there's late money from the CAW (Computer Assisted Racing) groups that definitely impacts wagering.
The early money on #9 proved to be a winner this time @ 5-2.

The 5th race exacta with Forever Young doing what he does & #2 Mott's Stars & Stripes in this 4 horse field paid $22.94.
That's a damn good price in a 4 horse field with Forever Young on top. A $5 exacta wheel cost $15 & returns $53.35. I'll always take 3x my play in any winner.
Opportunity lost for sure right there brothers!

WOW! What a race in Churchill's finale. #9 Winning Matters just got her nose down in a gutty gutty race against #11 the 7/5 chalk. Wining Matters got knocked down from 7/2 to 2-1.
We've all lost by head bobs, so it's great to get one for the good guys!
Paid $6.22 to win; $25.88 exacta with the favorite.
Nothing like a Friday night winner. It's not a car payment payoff but it's great for the adrenaline rush.
