I had Bowling Green last week in the 2nd half vs Idaho in the Humanitarian Bowl at a pick...brutal loss.

I think my worst was last year I had Miami Heat in the 2nd half.  I dont recall who they were playing, but I was up by 1/2 point with one second left in the game and Miami (my team) had the ball getting ready to in bound the ball.  Can't lose right?  WRONG.  D Wade says something to a ref and gets a technical foul called.  The other team got the ball went to the free throw made the free throw then got the ball in bounded it.......game over....I LOSE.

That game was fooking GREAT!  I had Idaho, what a finish.

The worst loss I have ever taken was the Steelers minus the dreaded 5.5 against San Diego, the only time you will ever see a penalty called under review, and because the clock reached 0's on the play 'the game is over' (and the ref gets halfway to signaling a touchdown and fixes his hat instead).  That was a fix more than a bad beat, but it was awful either way.

I had Cincy/Vikings under 23.5 in the first half a couple of weeks ago- Bengals were on their own 30 yard line with 25 seconds to go in the half, all they had to do was just kneel and go into halftime, they run a meaningless pass and it fumbles, vikings recover and kick a field goal right before half to go to 24 total.

Idaho / Bowling Green was not a bad beat.  Just came down to one play.  A bad beat is where you have the game "won" & some terrible crap happens.

One of my largest hockey bets in recent memory ended with a goal at the 20:00 mark, something I still can't understand.  There was a lot of confusion after the goal to make it 4-3 (Wash @ Atl) and the last thing they said before the end of the broadcast was that the goal was after the buzzer and would not count.  The teams went to the locker rooms and ten minutes later NHL.com started showing 4-3 as the official result... in hockey you can't score without time on the clock, so you can't end the game on a goal with no faceoff, but thats what happened.  It was a useless goal too, made it a 1-goal game with 0's on the clock.

I'm turning red just thinking about it.

Now I can't even remember if I had the Under 6.5 or Wasington -1.5 (I think it was the latter) but regardless, that was a bad beat.

The worst part about that Pitt game, the refs and the league all agreed that the wrong call was made. So you lost and should have 100% covered by the rules. Now that is a tough beat.

I have two but the worse was this one. I had 5,500 on the Wizards in this game and here is the video of what happened, the Wizards of course lost in OT. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5bqF4VDSx4

The other was one of the largest bets I ever placed on a baseball game. I had the A's and Barry Zito (back when he was dominant) vs the mariners. The A's were up like 7-1 in the 7th and Zito was cruising. Then all of a sudden the M's caught fire and were leading 8-7 and the A's never recovered. I remember this game less as the years go by, but I lost like 7k on the A's that night.  But the Wizards game was clearly my worse beat.

    can't top this one.

Georgetown-Memphis last December.  I had Memphis +6.5, goes to OT and then this ending. Watch from the 50 second mark.

LOL I had that game and it was a Saturday afternoon and I was at work. My friend followed me on it and he IM'd me saying "we got a Winnerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" I was like relax it's not over yet. And of course we lost the bet. He was shocked and said how did that happen. For like the next month I would IM him saying that and it pissed him off every time. He's one of those people like alot of covers people who if his team gets down 10 he thinks it's over or if his team is up 10, then the other team has no chance of coming back. It was pretty funny, even though I lost a ton of money on it.

one of my worst losses in recent memory was the bulls vs knicks in the garden...bulls are down 6 and coverin the spread by .5...they miss a 3 pointer with 1.5 secs left(somthing obsurd like that)..ball goes out of bounds..knicks inbound it..gallanari gets away from the guy and with .01 secs left...hindrich fouls him..the game was ruled over..but then after review..gallanari had to take foul shots and i lost 300 bucks because of that..even the announcers said "i have no clue why hindrich just fouled him" he than proceeded to say..."im pretty sure this play just affected the spread of this game"..the ultimate rub in

I hate even going over mine. It involves the fight at auburn hills. I had the over.. needed 1 point to push 2 points to win.. like over a minute left.. all the foul shots alone i woulda won. But because of the fight the game ended all bets final

When you are betting on the NBA, you are bound to have a bad beat.

Back when I was like 17 I bet some small school cbb game I forget what teams they were. Anyways there was .2 seconds on the clock and there was a foul called. The game was not in doubt. The guy goes to the free throw line to shoot 2. If he makes 1 of 2 its a scratch, if he misses both I win. He made the first so the best I can do is scratch. He misses the 2nd shot. I win right? No some dumbass in the crowd threw a paper airplane on the court the called interference he gets to shoot again. He makes it. I lose!

I'm sure there are more bad beats if the NBA is involved but still staying away from it until football ends.

My most memorable bad beat this year was the last TD catch by Col against Nebraska.  Thought I just won 2K, after that play, ended down 2.1K.  Yes, local only charges 5% juice.

Indians-Royals 2009 --  Greinke on mound Royals up by a run. 8th inning ball hits bird, clears bases, Royals lose lead and game.

The only thing funnier would have been if he threw it up over his head as he ran by the basket or something.  Still remember when that happened.   I thought the CBB forum was going to blow up.

$2000 on Florida against Nebraska way back when '97?.

That fricking criminal Lawrence Taylor had well over 200 yards in the Championship game. The line was 4.

Spurrier's face contorted like a chimp on the sidelines....

Funny how you remember losses more than wins....

Phillips? I was sitting here reading it twice to make sure I didn't read it wrong. I was like damn Lawrence Taylor as a running back.
