I think it's getting out of hand.   Some girl telling me who to start on my fantasy team.  Some woman telling me play by play in a baseball game.   Not only is it annoying but just not right.   It's like me telling a woman how to do her nails.     Just my thoughts.

I have no issues with women doing the job.  My only complaint is that they feel the need to justify their presence.

I've grown tired of it...........especially the stupid sideline interview at half time, when the chick asks the HC questions she doesn't even understand as he's trying to get to the locker room.

Still wanna kiss Suzy Kolber though.....

Jessica Mendoza is way better than Curt Schilling.    The others though... not so good.   The sideline eye candy is worthless.

I'm OK with it if they keep it short and sweet.

That goes for color commentators too.

Need to know when to shut up.

I got no problem with femaile sideline reporters asking dumb questions.  They always do.  It's cool.  But commenting on Football just don't make sense to me.  Just saying. As for Erin Andrews, she's the best.  Good sideline reporter but I wouldn't want her to give me fantasy advise or break down a 3-4 defense.

A media degree, attractive females reciting a script, tokens of appreciation, some have it, some don't, those that don't belong on a street corner, those that do, should be commended, for an award winning performance.....

Amazingly enough they have grown up watching the same game you watch. Some have even played some of the sports at a high level.  Quite obviously they know the game extremely well or they wouldn't have the job.  Certainly there may be a touch of adding women to it.  But they aren't just adding any woman---they are adding some very knowledgeable ones.  Many women do very well at fantasy football. Some women also break a game down very well.  It just sets wrong with some guys because we already feel we know so much more than the men coaches and men commentators already. So, for sure we feel we know more than the women. It simply isn't always true though.
For example, if you wer to read some of the commentary or advice---you would not being able to pick the women's out of the mix.
I see no point in sideline reporter---make or female.

So, for sure we feel we know more than the women. It simply isn't always true though.
For example, if you wer to read some of the commentary or advice---you would not being able to pick the women's out of the mix.
I see no point in sideline reporter---make or female.

Shows know that most male viewers prefer to watch young attractive female non-experts instead of old ugly male experts and female viewers don't mind.  Besides, the job involves reading a script written by someone else so expertise may not matter.

I thought Mendoza was above average, way better than Schilling.

All sideline reports (except maybe Siragusa) are worthless, male or female.

I don't watch the rest of the ESPN programming.

You obviously work for or have a stake in the worldwide leader

Sadly for you, the monopoly they once had is finished and many are gladly watching FOX now instead of the agenda laden media vomit at BSPN

I graduated a large university broadcast degree. The same university that graduated many people that work espn both on-air/off-air like Ian Eagle,Bob Costas,Mike Terico.I still listen to the on-campus radio station where these people first broadcast for broadcasts of all varsity sports.
If you want to know a comming thing that I promise you will be on your broadcasts sooner then later is the openly g@y male broadcastor/commentator.I don't have photos, but I know a g@y man when I listen to him for 3 hours. It's not illegal to be g@y and announcing sports but it is distracting.

the subject matter of the thread is "Women broadcasters/commentators" what's your objective bringing 'Lady-Boys' into the discussion? FYI, it'll never happen (never say never) ever hear of advertising revenue? who is going to dish out dollars for a 'poop-shoot-bandit' doing NFL? NBA? MLB? NHL? commentary; ESPN? FOX Sports? ABC Disney? If you know him, what's his name?let's track this phenomanon that you have described, personally, they have a better chance of becoming  president of the U.S. than ever broadcasting a MNFgame, meaning; it will not happen in your lifetime.....

What I noted was that on this Radio Station that has served as the training-ground for Ian Eagle,Bob Costas,Mike Telrico and other announcers on Network Sports today there are broadcast teams of junior/senior college students working towards their broadcast degrees.I'm not going to name a college broadcasting student that you don't know anyway as g@y but there was several that were g@y and at least 1 has graduated and may be working in the bowels of the world wide leader as they fall over themselves to hire graduates of this Broadcasting Program. You don't think that espn wouldn't pissss themselves to have a g@y football announcer after the lovefest they had for the drafting of g@y Sam the linebacker that couldn't cut it? There have been g@y #1 draft picks,g@y NFL MVP, and g@y SuperBowl MVP,what makes you think they will stop a g@y guy whispering stats on a MondayNight game?

If Erin Andrews wants to offer you fantasy advice, I suggest you listen.

He is confused by the difference between rumours and reality.  There were rumours about MVP Aaron Rodgers and #1 pick Tom Cousineau.
