Anyone who does not view the next 4 years with some trepidation is fooling themselves. This presidency has a chance to be a train wreck.
The other side is that Trump is so very different than any previous President, that there is a chance, albeit a slim one, that he is indeed one of the best POTUS's ever.
The problem with the 2nd scenario is that no matter what Trump does, says, accomplishes, repeals, enacts ... the MSM will lambast and harpoon him. They will spin 100% of everything to meet their narrative, which is that Trump is the worst President ever. They've been doing so for 2 months now, and he's not even in office yet!!! As always, people believe what they are told on the news and what they read in print.
On that topic, I was watching Rachel Maddow last night. I find her to be very bright, very witty, and well articulated. She is also left of left. She has made an art form of taking everything having to do with Trump and spinning it into a negative. It's become comical to watch. Last night she did a 20 minute piece on Obama's accomplishments, and I'm pretty sure they had to mop under her chair afterwards because she was pretty excited for that segment.

He speaks differently, but I have seen no evidence so far of his decisions being any different. He claimed he was going to "drain the swamp". If anything, with his cabinet picks, he only added more to it.

With each and every cabinet pick, the media and DC cartel have combined to question, ridicule, mock, and incite.
This was to be expected.
I have a novel idea ... give Trump a couple of years before you declare him a terrible President.
A couple of years too long for you? Than give him a couple of days.
Labeling Trump's Presidency a disaster before he is sworn in seems rather liberalish to me.
If anyone requires some short term results to determine Trump's value as a President, I would suggest that you keep an eye on government spending and the deficit ... you know that same deficit that grew more in the last 8 years than in every previous President's term ... COMBINED

The political forum exists so the right has a place to insult the left, and vice versa

Betsy Devos and Linda McMahon are completely unqualified. They are only there because they were big contributors to Trump. Sorry. That can't be argued. But, if you want to try, go ahead.
Ben Carson and Rick Perry are both being selected for positions that they are unqualified for. What's the point of Carson being utilized outside of the Health?
His other selections are fairly qualified for the most part. But, there are certainly some red flags. Insider trading, conflicts of interest, etc.
Sorry, if you don't have a problem with at least SOME of these selections. You are nothing more than a partisan hack.

Hard to believe Trump might be a good President since polls indicate Trump is the most unpopular President elect in decades and even Obama has higher approval ratings. So far, Trump has said alot of terrible things that would be bad policies for any government.
History shows that Presidents exiting economic recessions tend to do better. Unfortunately, US may be overdue for a new recession after years of recovery under Obama as economy naturally go through cycles. Also bad laws tend to be more probable during majority governments because they are less constrained.

Welcome to politics.
You probably like to talk politics in here, because it's a safe haven for you. You can make your argument and then you rarely hear a counter argument.
My Step Mother and a co-worker of mine are both guilty of this. It's okay for them to talk politics, but if you make a statement. They will say things like "let's not discuss politics, please." It drives me crazy.

Are these the same polls that had Hillary winning in a landslide?

Unfortunately, polls have to be taken with a grain of salt in this day and age. But, I think it is safe to say that Trump is definitely at less than 50% approval right now. That's just logical. He only got 46% of the vote to begin with and how many of those were "I don't like Trump, but I hate Hillary, she is the devil" votes?

Within minutes you described me as "nothing more than a political hack" and then accused me of talking politics in this forum because it is a "safe haven" for me.
The reason for these personal attacks?
I have the audacity to have an opinion that differs than yours.
Oh my, sound the alarms ... how dare me!!!!!
The reason that I stopped posting in the politics forum is that there is no dialogue in there, no intelligent back and forth. The minute one side makes a statement, they get attacked with insults.
You have now made the same scenario play out here in the GD.
Well done
I will allow you to get back to your whining about all things Trump

To add to post # 20, the words "if" and "probably" were significant in my statements that you labeled as "personal attacks". Learn to read full, complete statements made by people.
And I don't know you well enough to make personal attacks against you.... yet.
