Using short words and syllables saves time and data and money in cyber space. So get used to efficient communication. The meaning is transferred.

That has to be the dumbest thing I've ever heard.    Using no words at all saves time and oxygen so I guess I'll just point and grunt next time I go to buy something.

Your analogy has to be the dumbest thing I've heard today so far.  Shortening words, acronyms, initials, etc is an accepted form of communication on the net while your grunting and pointing as a form of communication is just plain stupid......

It's an accepted form of communication if you're a 12 year old girl who is typing in code to hide things from her parents.

If you're older than 18 use the entire word, or just continue to contribute to the dumbing down of the general population.

It's an accepted form of communication if you're a 12 year old girl who is typing in code to hide things from her parents.

    tjohnsont,

You're just digging in deeper and deeper... Your last two questions just illustrate that you don't get it or refuse to get it... Either way, do yourself a favor and take the loss and move on...

BTW or 'by the way' for you, everything Punta said in short form is very understandable and an accepted form of shortening words.

If you are old fashioned, too old to understand or out of date and don't want to keep up with the times then just say so but you don't need to criticize others for keeping up with the times and trends.
