exactly. this is what I used to say all the time when this discussion would come up. What people always fail to mention is how the cubs screwed up and had a key error BEFORE this even happened. And then they still screw up and lost the lead after this happened.
Just Like the eagles coming back on the Giants last year. It was all on the punter kicking to Jackson. The Defense giving up 21 points in 5 minutes before that had no influence on the outcome.

I always think about the guy sitting next to him who also reached for the ball, but missed. Luckiest guy in the stadium
Everyone would not have done the same thing, but most of the people around him WERE doing the same thing. It's not like he reached way out into the field of play to try and catch it.
Continuing to blame this guy when the Flubs had all sorts of chances after that to close out the game is bush league.
