I don't think you can change the password yet.  This was just an update that will let you once the network is back up..

As covered in the post from earlier today, you can now update the firmware on your PS3 and change your password.

 

I just figured that meant you could. As long as it makes it easy for me to do so once I log on, I'm fine.

This whole thing is probably just a ploy to keep customers for a few more days while they continue to figure out how the fuck they're going to fix this shit because they probably still have no idea.
