He was a great actor. Several months ago I read he had a pretty bad drug problem but he said he kicked it. 46 years old.

Great actor... Loved him in Owning Mahoney (obviously, lol)... They say he was a regular dude. RIP.

Damn,  why?  You have everything and you just throw it away on dope.  You want to do drugs, smoke some damn weed.  Why do anything else?  I just don't understand how people get into it

i am just as guilty le rink rat, i'm sorry but the truth is what it is.  i realize a lot of people who were able to overcome their addictions will frown upon my outlook but i would probably gamble my life away than shoot it up.  Not saying you had a drug habit before but a lot of us have had loved ones, close family member or friends who chose certain routes in life.

if only the obituaries left out the fact that the person died with a needle in his arm and hopefully the rumor is untrue, but just goes to show you how guilty i am

heroin is scary. once it gets a hold of you good luck getting out of the game. doesn't matter if you are a lowlife street dweller or a famous celeb. RIP

I loved the scene in Boogie Nights when they are clothes shopping and his character has the same shirt on as Dirk but he can't button it because he's fat

I was an extra in scent of a women with him in the court room. It wad a church in NYC paid 500 a day for three days. Take after take after take. You can see me sitting behind al Pacino in crowd

I don't think I've ever had a favorite actor before, but he was it.  I didn't even realize all the things I had seen him in - and not noticed it was him.  He was Lester Bangs in Almost Famous. Art Howe in Money Ball.  The priest in Doubt.  He's even in Pirate Radio, which seems to play in perpetual loop on my cable channel.  So sad.

he was a great actor, i'm not sure i've seen a bad movie with him in it.

i read a report that said he had 50 bags of heroin in his apartment.  sounds like he wasn't planning on coming out alive.
