NIKE to do ad campaign with Kaepernick

 The 30th anniversary of the "Just do it" slogan will feature Kaepernick. The slogan being "Just do it.......even if it means sacrificing everything". There has been a bit of an uproar about it. I couldn't care less, but am interested to see what their stock does in the near future.

Not a smart move by Nike.  Pissing off half of the population.  Nothing to gain from this.  Only a lot to lose.  

I think half of the population is an exaggeration but I agree, this is kind of cheesy and pointless. Serena Williams would've been more impressive.

Free American publicity for NIKE, Kaepernick is unknown outside of the boundries of the U.S.A.

Great call on Pat Tillman.......someone who made the ultimate sacrifice. NIKE should be embarrassed that they got sold this from some ad exec.........could cost them.

pre market showing 2.5% dip. should be interesting today.in my opinion, this was a desperation move to get attention and i believe will blow up in their face just like it did with the nfl. not a smart idea trying to create a brand name that has attracted so much negativity, regardless of his intentions 

Complete disrespect for our military by bringing Kapperdick on board. I sat out the NFL last season and while I was never a big fan of Nike, I will not buy anything as long as he represents them. Time for the NFL to come forward and tell the people what they are going to do by Sunday or are they going to poo poo around for another year. 

It's because Pat Tillman is an old story. Man, he would've been great for this though. Takes whatever message about sacrifice they think they're sending with Kaep and kicks it up by a multiple of 1000. And the money would've gone to his family, which would've been nice.

First and foremost, NIKE, these Corporate Fukks™, make a lousy product.  A VERY sh!tty product.  Anybody actually LOOKED at the complete GARBAGE they attempt to market off the backs of cheap foreign labor? 

There is no possible way I would even wear their sh!tty clothing, let alone spend any of my dollars on their products.

That could be said about most products on every store shelf in America. Nike is just the one-we hear about. Buy American when you can and just realize that when you don't you're almost always contributing to cheap, and often forced, labor. And trust me, and this coming from someone whom always makes an attempt to buy American, some stuff you just can't find.

Wish the people that are burning or destroying their expensive Nike products would donate them to the Homeless Veterans they PRETEND TO CARE ABOUT

Being a Veteran, what I highlighted in bold is a stance MANY Veterans take and I'll explain why...while personally I don't agree with the stance he chose to take...It's his right to take it. Now do I think taking this stance in your "Employers Office" is the right decision? by all means NO...

What Military people do is PROTECT the rights of people like Kaep to be free to express their opinions...surely we all WON'T agree but what happened to respecting people's rights to be different? nowadays if someone don't think like we do, act like we do or even say or like the same thing we do then they are are RIPPED in the court of public opinion. 

The BEST way this should be addressed is to form a coalition of AMERICAN black athletes and go to places where the injustices are occurring. The press will surely be there too, and televise the meetings with the local City Councils, Mayor's and Chiefs Of Police. That will bring more positive light to this
