Losing those games are really getting to me.  What are the odds?  I dream about the Yankees Dodgers game.  What are the freaking odds when the dodgers were up 5-0 then 6-2 going into the 9th?

I'm presently on a 3-27 run. Yup, that's a win rate of 10% in my last 30.

Doesn't seem like this shit should be possible but it is. The Dodger game is just another example. Only thing that can get you through it is solid money management

Ya know what really cured my bad gambling habits?  Winning. 

No I'm not being sarcastic.  Winning just opened up my eyes to the fact of what gambling meant to me.

I used to blow every paycehck I made on gambling, max out credit cards, then borrow money to pay bills.  Like you said, I thought gambling was my only way to financial freedom. 

Then I went on a big winning streak, winning about $10,000.  Went out on a shopping spree, went to the mall, best buy, clothing stores.  Spent about $200, I just couldnt bring myself to buy anything, all I thought about was having that money to gamble.  It was then that I realized that I have all this money I won from gambling and the only thing I want to use it on is more gambling.  I knew it would never end.

I'm not whining, just stating the obvious.  Trust me the suffering is not optional.  I'm doing everything I can to break out of it. 

Madden I'm prone to depression in the first place.  Don't call somebody a punk, then tell them that other people have worse things going on when you don't even know what all I have going on.  All I have told here is the gambling part.  That's all you know. 

I realize people are dying and shit but that doesn't stop the fact that I think about killing myself daily.

You mentioned before that you have a wife and kids, that alone is reason to stop thinking about killing yourself.  That would mess them up for the rest of their lives, your kids would never be right, probably be in counseling for their whole lives.  I don't know what else you have going on in your life, but I don't like to see people talk like that

sure sounds like you do it for the action. bet 1/10 of your normal bet and enjoy the action- with your current mental state you have 0% chance of making money right now- cut back, enjoy the games, but more importantly, enjoy some laughs with your family

In Baseball its quite often. You should know that if you have done it this long. Closers are impossible to guess

Whether you are depressed, bipolar, or suffering from any other malady, which you clearly are, there is help for you. You know where to find that help, and it is not on this message board.

If it's a problem outside of gambling then I can sympathize with you....

I was just thinking it was 100% gambling related (didn't read the whole thread).

Depression can be some horrible shit... Hang in there man.

Go see a professional , they will get you back on track. I'm sure it seems pretty hopeless now but they can work magic.

100% correct. His problem is simply money management & discipline. If you're betting a certain % of your overall bankroll per game-as you're losing, you're amount bet per game becomes smaller. The flip side is your amount bet per game becomes bigger if you're winning. If you're betting 2% of your bankroll on one game and 20% of your bankroll the next day on another game-you're eventually gonna get your head handed to you.

Learn from the experience. Also it might be an idea to read this thread every so often just to remind you of the pitfalls of gambling.

Not every will win, it's about finding a balance which YOU are happy with. Hope you get things sorted.
