Man Finds $100K in Burger King

It's good to see he did the right thing turning it over to the authorities so that they could find the rightful owner.

I find a wallet with money in it, I'm driving to the guy's house and giving it to him, money intact. I find a duffle bag with $100K in it, I'm running and sleeping well. Nobody is going to claim it IF the cops try to find the owner, and just how would they go about doing that? And like the cops are going to give a random stranger $100K when he claims it's his.

Unbelievable. I understand people trying to do the right thing. That in and of itself is admirable. But it's not the right thing if the action has no chance of producing the intended result. And I can pretty much guarantee that money isn't getting back to the owner.

There is of course the concern of somebody hunting you down if you take it and run.

How does someone unintentionally leave behind $100K in a bag at a restaurant? I have to believe that he, for some reason, meant to leave it there. For what reason... who knows.

I&#x27;d do the same Search, but how would you possibly find the owner?  When I stated that I would take it and run, I was meaning that I would do that because finding the owner would be nearly impossible if not impossible.

I&#x27;d make a public announcement that a paper bag was found containing something valuable.&#xD;&#xA;If somebody lost something valuable they should contact me with a description of the paper bag contents.&#xD;&#xA;If the person who contacted me matches the person in the camera recordings, then bingo.  If nobody comes forward then it becomes my property.&#xD;&#xA;Fukk the Police.  I wouldn&#x27;t get them involved, PERIOD.

Guy comes in with a gun and demands the bag.  He starts killing one person every minute he doesn&#x27;t have the bag in his hand.  His buddy watches the door.This probably wouldn&#x27;t happen.  But, what if it did?  The blood would be on your hands in the view of many.  And if nobody gets killed because you hand it over, then you might as well have just kept the money for yourself because the owner never did get it back.So I think I&#x27;m just keeping it.  No matter what you do, there are risks.  I&#x27;d rather have $100K in my closet if I&#x27;m gonna be taking on risk.

Careful, folks. Cops love nothing more than entrapment. I wouldn't be surprised at all to find out some local Keystone Kop dreamed up a scheme to bust someone big time. They stash $100k somewhere in public where they can watch it, and if some poor sap tries to walk away with it - BOOM, busted.

I was speaking to someone about this over the weekend and they brought up a very good point.

If the person who left the money is "shady" they won't claim it. Correct me if I'm wrong but if something is turned in to the police and it goes unclaimed after a certain amount of time the person who turned it in gets to keep the item.

"Shady" may wait for the person who turned it in to get the bag of money and then he will be paid a visit.

This is an interesting topic.  I believe taking it and run is the best answer.  Chances are the money is from something shady.  Whoever is looking for this bag won&#x27;t go to the cops but may ask to view the cameras.  So what are the chances that the shady person recognizes you?  If you&#x27;re normal dude and live in a big city, very very minimal.  I think the odds are in your favor ... and since we&#x27;re all gamblers ... go ahead and take it and run.

The restaurant I don&#x27;t believe would let anyone see the tape.  Especially a huge chain like that.  I didn&#x27;t know that about the account number and the weed.  Wow.If they have an account number, this makes it interesting.  Checking account numbers can be accessed by anyone that sees or receives a check from him.  Might be difficult to prosecute.  Or not.
