It makes you wonder about the perspective of someone that believes being heterosexual is a choice that he makes through much soul searching and introspection...  sounds like he is really putting forth alot of effort to be what the rest of us just do as default...

seems weird to me, but normal for him, along with his assumption that all people in the world are like him and teeter on the edge of straightandgay and need to make a conscious choice for a lifestyle...

I know there is ample reason to believe that being happy is a choice, mainly because we see people like Jason Collins veer back & forth between heter & person sexual relationships all the time.

Additionally, there are plenty of people who used to engage in g-a-y sex and no longer do.

it's good that you use collins as an example.  put the bible down, maybe apply an ice pack to your head and rad up on collins.  he said that he always knew he was happy since he started being attracted to people but he felt he had to act a certain way and give the appearance that he wasn't (because there are still many backwards redneck, religious right homophobes that make it difficult for people to come out).  so collins will tell you that it isn't a choice because he veered back and forth or came out as an adult, he was always happy but deciding to come out at this time was a choice due to inbred bigots still having too much influence in our society. 

but again like me and every other heterosexual who wants to be honest about it, he didn't get up one day and decide who he is attracted to.  he's always been attracted to other dudes, but since he's g*y, his choice was to stay in the closet due to the religious inbred factor in this country who demonize him.  once you guys fully go the way of the klan and get completely marginalized, homosexuals will choose les to stay in the closet because the stigma won;t be there nearly as much (although rightwing republicans will most likely choose to remain in the closet, so you won't be alone).

Am I missing something, Why is everyone bashing the OP in this thread? The thread subject has relevance, Unless the OP has some BMA type history on here that I've missed, I'm shocked at how the original question of why the media is so hell bent on getting pro athletes to come out of the closet is being ducked and don't get me started on Brandon Ayanbadejo, That guy seems to want NFL players to be happy so that his job has some legitimacy.

What if these happy athletes are comfortable with hiding/not announcing their sexual preferences? After all athletes don't have to reveal their religions and political beliefs so why do they have to announce whether they are happy/straight or bi?
