I have a friend that had a very bad night some time ago. He came home from a night of dinner and a few drinks about 10PM and then there was an accident so he needed to rush his wife to the hospital, she was bleeding. He gets her in the car and he proceeds to crash into a couple cars. He was booked for wanton endangerment 1st degree (hitting cars), and also for DUI. She was okay since he did make it into town close to the hospital. Judge hears the evidence and decides to forward to grand jury.
My take is judge clearly sees that there are some very compelling circumstances prior to the crime that need to be considered. Was the better decision to not drive and let her bleed out? They live in the country and EMS is simply not a great option.
who can chime in on this with any perspective?
