What's this all about??  Anyone surprised by this?  Does this make you like him more or less?

What makes you think he has a hefty gambling debt?

Did you read more then just the headlines?

Mickelson, a five-time major winner and one of the PGA Tour's wealthiest and most popular players, has not been charged with a crime and is not under federal investigation.

If he did it must be for the thrill. And if he is hiding it one would think his wife wife would cut his nutz off. Ask Tiger.

Tip...if you do not want to be linked to crime, don't have the nickname "Lefty"

Eli C. took care of Lefty years ago.......right before the Ryder Cup.

I think this is old news.......remember hearing about this last year & Phil cooperated with the investigation.

That was about an insider-trading scandal, not gambling Mugg. Old Lefty likes to gamble, but "supposedly" (like most of us) retired a few years ago.

Word was that Mrs. Lefty enjoyed gambling a little too.

Athletes like to gamble. Look at Charles Barkley and Michael Jordan just to name a few. Years ago the Harness raced at Cal Expo and after it was over it was a big card game. Used to love playing with those guys.

Not news that he is a heavy gambler.  The current news is the money laundering by the other guy using P.M. proceeds.  Insider trading allegations a little worse actually for his brand.

Its like saying members on Covers use creative ways to fund their 5 Dimes account, to me the reason it happened is he gambles a ton. What some guy did with the proceeds is a function of Phil gambling.

And I've been contacted from a few friends shocked to hear that Phil is gambling...which I find funny, it is so obvious he does.

Yes. He has done many legal big plays. So the gambling is not the news. You are right.  People that keep up with sports/gambling know that.
But when you are associated with people that do insider trading or launder money that is hard to swerve. Don't think anyone cares about his gambling. A lot of athletes ...er, sport's figures...gamble big!
