I live in Las Vegas and didn't even know this team existed. We had an outlaws team maybe 10 yrs ago. I still can't believe they suckered an NhL team to come here.
I don't see any professional sports team staying here for an extended time. Special events is the only thing this city can support.

I don't live in Vegas, and I have only visited there once for a few days. I will take your account as reasonable, and more importantly I know that the forces of capitalism states that if there were some economic viability of having a team there, it would have happened.

still in prelim stages BUT I can NOT believe after the absolute DISASTER of moving the Winnipeg Jets to Phoenix that the NHL had NOT learned it's lesson about "hockey in the desert". BOTH pro hockey teams that Las Vegas has had, the IHL Thunder and ECHL Wranglers, FAILED and I doubt "The Craps" would do any better.
probably the ONLY major league sport that would make it in Las Vegas is the NBA because of the UNLV basketball culture and also the NBA summer developmental league seems to be doing well

That's nonsense, how long you been in Vegas? You don't know what you're talking about, man. The Thunder did not fail, UNLV wouldn't renew their agreement so they had nowhere else to play. The Wranglers were in town for over a decade making money before they ran into problems with the Orleans.
The city is 2 million now, the NHL will do just fine and certainly a lot better than the bottom tier like the Coyotes, Panthers etc.
