Is HUNTING a dying sport? Is it primative torture or true sport?

Im also a hunter and a proud one.. Come to my gameroom.. I have walls full of animals.. The difference with me is I actually eat what I kill.. One exception, I did kill a bear and I have that mounted..

I would love to go to Africa and have a field day.. Alot of safari over there to play around in.............

Exactly. It's ridiculous to call something a sport when your opponent doesn't even realize it's participating. Hell, I could be heavyweight champ if all I had to do was tap someone on the shoulder and punch him in the face when he started to turn around.

I have no problem with hunting or fishing but don't try to pass it off as something it's not.

Sorry dude, if you're going to be throwing around mancard shit, then you better be at least familiar with firearms and/or hunted in your lifetime.  At least where I come from. 

1) When did I ever say you can't wear flip flops? Do you wear them when you hunt? Why not? They are so comfortable according to you.....wear whatever the hell you want.

2) I didn't realize the only way to be familiar with firearms is if you hunt. I own guns and don't hunt. Is that rare?

3) As I stated, I have friends that hunt. As others have stated some just perch up in a tree and/or lure animals to them or corner their prey in a fenced "hunting" area. To me, hunting should involve tracking in an open area, pursuit, and then a kill. Regardless, that's only my opinion. I have no problem with hunting in any way, shape, or form. Tight lines!, or whatever it is hunters say.....

 

why kill for sport?  it's not like it's that difficult.  I always think about what douchebags these hunters on tv are.... I mean they have a guide that basically puts an animal in front of their rifle and says "here you pull the trigger."  What is so rewarding about that?  Bunch of pussies IMHO.

"Hunting" is a subjective term. IMO Hunting is someone going out and tracking, following, stalking, whatever something that they want to shoot and doing it. The clowns that put out bait piles, have guides, go to fenced in preserves, and use dogs aren't hunters, they are shooters. What cracks me up more is the people that do this think it is a "sport".

I used to hunt, mostly because I was influenced as a young guy but I grew tired of it. Just saw no point in going out into an animals habitat and killing it for essentially nothing. I put down the rifle and picked up the camera instead. I like it much better, no mess and you can shoot the animals more than once.

btw - there is a big difference between someone not liking hunting and eating a hamburger.
