Is covers.com more alive or dead now than 5 yrs ago???

Now Twitter houses most of the Sports chat traffic.

Agree that social media has a big influence.

No question in the grand scheme of things bet ed and sjp debacle hurt this site. The number of posters with less than a year tenure that destroy threads and just troll hurts as well. Covers would certainly be well served to add an tenured members section as well. Something that prohibits posters with less than a year from posting in the section of the site.

The changes they made proved detrimental to the site. They have to clean up the viruses.

covers general discussion section used to be must view daily stuff. Now its 1/20th of what it used to be if that.

Logic would dictate more "dead".

Whenever they put in the curse word filter and avatar restrictions and made other changes was when the General Discussion forum dried up...

Things are way way down ! Not even close to what they were ! Lots of scammers and lots of broke d**** !  Other than than like only 5 US books left that are legit ! Industry is in complete shambles !! Bitcoin helps a little but industry is a complete mess !!

you have no idea how funny this place used to be 13 years ago. Especially with hyper links. 

I like Covers, for the most part but, at the same time, I'm not sure I've ever seen a website with such little regard for its membership as this one. Just think of all the changes people have asked for over the years, only to be summarily dismissed.

Can we get new emoticons? NO.
Can you bring back hyperlinks? No, stop being lazy (that one's an actual quote).
The ads gave me a virus. Wasn't us...
Could you change back the scoreboards? Nope, too bad for you...
What happened to SarahJPhili? Who?
What's going on with betED? Never heard of them...

At some point, people start looking for alternatives and, every once in a while, they find it.

It's dead compared to 10 years ago. Once all the good books closed and all the promotions and freebies dried up, social media was born. And then sports chat was sucked up by those platforms. My guess is, more than 70% of posters are lifetime losers and are under the age of 25. Lots of kids in here these days, you can just sense it. Covers won't make it much longer unless changes are made. Still love the place, come here every day, but golly, a decade ago this place was the bees knees. Not anymore. 

The site died when mods cracked down on language, avatars, etc.

More, is not better. But thats what we got.
