"Jump" is a 1992 song by the hip hop duo Kris Kross. It was released as a single in early 1992 from their album Totally Krossed Out. It achieved great success in many countries where it topped the charts, including Australia, Switzerland and the U.S.

Kris Kross's members were only 12 and 13 years old when they recorded their hit song. Written by Treach of Naughty By Nature, and produced by Jermaine Dupri, "Jump" was the fastest selling single in fifteen years and stayed on top of the Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks. Kris Kross's debut album Totally Krossed Out, which features "Jump", sold over four million copies. It also reached number one in Australia and New Zealand, and number 2 in the United Kingdom, held off the top by KWS' cover song "Please Don't Go". This song kept En Vogue's "My Lovin' (You're Never Gonna Get It)" from the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 which the song peaked at number 2.

The song samples The Honeydrippers' "Impeach The President", Ohio Players' "Funky Worm" and Jackson 5's "I Want You Back"; Kris Kross later toured Europe together with Michael Jackson. At the beginning of their song they dissed another kid group Another Bad Creation when Chris "Mac Daddy" Kelly said "don't try to compare us to another bad little fad".^{[citation needed]} The original song's introduction contained a sample of ABC's song "Playground" which was followed by a scratching sound giving the effect that their record was being taken off to play "Jump". This was soon removed due to copyright infringement.^{[citation needed]}

It ranked number 75 on "VH1's 100 greatest songs of the 90's", and number two on their "Child Stars" Top 10 list.

"Warm It Up" was the second single released from Kris Kross' debut album, Totally Krossed Out. Produced and written by Jermaine Dupri, "Warm It Up" was released as the follow-up to the duo's multi-platinum chart topping hit, "Jump" on June 4, 1992. The song became the second consecutive top 20 hit released from the album, reaching 13 on the Billboard Hot 100, as well as their second consectutive single to reach #1 on the Rap charts. "Warm It Up" was certified gold on August 8, 1992.

"It's a Shame" was the final single from Totally Krossed Out, following Jump, Warm It Up and I Missed the Bus. "It's a Shame" turned out to be the least successful of the four singles, as it did not chart on the Billboard Hot 100. However, it did manage to reach #11 on Billboard's Hot Rap Singles chart and #55 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and #31 on the UK Singles Chart. The song was written and produced by Jermaine Dupri. The group had performed "It's a Shame" on numerous television shows such as A Different World. But the song may sound different because both members Daddy Mac and Mac Daddy were going through puberty.

"I Missed the Bus" was the third single from Totally Krossed Out, following Jump and Warm It Up, both of which made it to #1 on the Billboard Hot Rap Singles chart. Though the single was not as successful as the group's previous two, "I Missed the Bus" managed to make it to #14 on the Hot Rap Singles chart and #63 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified Gold by the RIAA. The music video also received heavy play on MTV and BET. The song was written and produced by Jermaine Dupri.

Da Bomb is the third and final single released by Kris Kross from their second album Da Bomb. It featured female rapper, Da Brat in what was her first appearance on a song. Da Bomb would prove to be the least successful single released from the album, not charting on the Billboard Hot 100 and making it to #25 on the Hot Rap Singles. Two versions of the song were released the original LP version and the Explosive Mix that was used in the music video. The line "I drop bombs like Hiroshima" from was edited out of song for the album's Japanese release.

"Alright" was the first single released from Kris Kross' second album Da Bomb. The song was produced and written by Jermaine Dupri and featured reggae star, Super Cat on the chorus

Sampling Slave's "Just a Touch of Love", "Alright" was officially released on July 13, 1993 as the lead single from Da Bomb and became the album's biggest hit, peaking at #19 on the Billboard 200 and was the duo's third single to reach #1 on the Hot Rap Singles ("Jump" and "Warm It Up" being the first two). "Alright" also contains a diss to rival group, Da Youngstas, who had been critical of Kris Kross due to their success on the Billboard charts and the fact that they did not write their lyrics. Chris Kelly AKA "Mac Daddy" responded with the lyric "I didn't come out wack I came out right, unlike them moles who choose to pass da mic", a obvious reference to Da Youngstas single "Pass da Mic".

"Alright" was certified gold by the RIAA on September 14, 1993 for sales of over 500,000 copies.

I'm Real was the 2nd single released by the duo from Da Bomb after Alright. Although not as successful as Alright, I'm Real was yet another success for the group, making it to #84 on the Billboard Hot 100, #8 on the Hot Rap Singles and #8 on the Hot Dance Club Play album charts. The song was written and produced by Jermaine Dupri and heavely sampled Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg's Nuthin' But a "G" Thang. This song (along with Take Um Out) had been directed at other teen rap groups Illegal, Da Youngstas and Another Bad Creation.

Kriss Kross - Tonights the Night

"Tonite's tha Night" was the first of two singles released from Kris Kross' final album, Young, Rich & Dangerous. The song was a success for the duo, making it to #12 on the Billboard Hot 100, #1 on the Hot Rap Singles, and #17 Rhythmic Top 40. "Tonite's tha Night" marked the fourth single for Kris Kross, after "Jump", "Warm It Up" and "Alright" to make it to #1 on the Hot Rap Singles. A remix was also released featuring Redman, however it did not reach any Billboard charts. The song was written and produced by Jermaine Dupri. The song contains a sample from "Riding High" by Faze-O also used by EPMD on "Please Listen To My Demo" on Unfinished Business (EPMD album) and Ghostface Killah on the song "Killa Lipstick" from The Big Doe Rehab album .

The instrumental of "Da Streets Ain't Right" was famously Chopped & Screwed by DJ Screw, becoming the basis for the "June 27th Freestyle". DJ Screw's treatment of Jermaine Dupri's production is now considered a standard among Chopped & Screwed fans

"Live and Die for Hip Hop" was the second and final single from Young, Rich and Dangerous, after "Tonite's tha Night". The single featured rap stars Da Brat, Jermaine Dupri, little known rapper, Mr. Black and background vocals by R&B star Aaliyah. The song contains a sample of "Baby Come to Me" by Regina Belle. The single was not as successful as "Tonite's tha Night", however it did gain some success, making it to #72 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #11 on the Hot Rap Singles chart. A remix was made featuring DJ Clark Kent.
