I am sure the under-aged kids in China slaving away in a disgusting factory are thrilled that Jobs bought a new car every 6 months to stick it to California.
How people put him on a pedestal is a joke. Stepping on the lowest of the low should not be rewarded.
No new Apple products in this household. The company has more than enough money to properly pay and provide for the people being abused in China.

Jobs is a manipulative cheat.

never registered his car with the state of california
got a new silver mercedes every 6 months skirting the cali registration law

then think about his 1984 ad from the super bowl a long time ago. new found respect for the man. i may even get an ipad
The plate thing from what i read, is not about jobs hating the state {even thou i know that puts a big smile on your face} it had to do with security, one of his security people said after he died.
Why would you buy one of those overpriced ipods, when they probably only cost 10 bucks to make with the slave labor apple uses. Isnt it amazing how all these companies say they go overseas because our costs here are to much. Yet when these companies go overseas and get their products made cheaply, they still sell them here at the same prices if they made them here. They dont reduce any prices for the consumer

Yeh, those workers in China are abused there is not sugar coating that. Can't be too hard on Apple though, they did install nets to catch the suicidal workers/jumpers. It's true, google it on your i-phone, i-pad.

Toe-MAYTO/ Toe-MAHTO
actually, when i can buy the same computer or device for 1/2 the cost as i would pay for it if it were made here, that leaves me left over discretionary money to spend on other things...like local restaurants, movies, etc
i think you would be foolish to want to pay more for the same goods if they are made domestically. abolishing the minimum wage would go some fantastic justice in raising our employment numbers
maybe putting together iphones is worth $3 an hour to Apple. in america they would have to pay at least $11 an hour + benefits in most cases.
if they could employ people who's skills are only worth $3 an hour, then maybe we wouldnt have such a big issue. instead, those people sit home are subsidized by those making $11 an hour. awesome isnt it?

Of course that is how you approach everything Koaj, whatever it takes to get YOU more, that is your focus.
Interesting how some complain about others lower on the totem pole who wants to maximize their resources, and others ignore the obvious "cost"of maximizing your marginal benefit..
Apple could do more, they could support the Chinese communities they are pillaging, pay more to the people they are abusing..their coffers are flush with cash. I am quite sure the execs at Apple appreciate your viewpoint though..ignore their corporate abuses and keep buying their cheap wares.

actually i dont know own any apple products
if i bought samsung (korean) company that uses chinese labor would i be guilty of the same thing?
i want better goods at cheaper prices...dont we all? with that leftover money i can support local businesses that i wouldnt be able to if i had to spend $1000 on a cell phone. instead i spend $200 or so and have $800 to buy local handmade chairs, pay a local painter, landscaper etc
arent we, as americans better off as a society when more people can afford high tech goods and gadgets?

You know the answer to that question..does it mean anything to you? Of course not.
For you if the party being abused serves your needs, then the abuse does not exist. If there is a travesty that effects you then you are all up in arms about it (unions).
To answer the other question, no not everyone wants the "cheapest prices", some people want to pay reasonable prices knowing that the producer makes a reasonable living..you obviously do not share that opinion.
So if the going rate for your wife was 50 cents an hour, I guess that would be ok..or the class size for your kids was 100 per 1 teacher then it would be ok..or if the quality of the water for your township was ran through the sides of the road and was not purified that would be ok..or if your wife had to work in a disgusting, overcrowded factory for 14 hrs a day making 15 bucks a day I guess that is ok too right?
As americans we are not better off affording gadgets when the party making them is being abused.
You know these truths, you just choose to ignore them because it saves you money.
