DOTD's, Norton Internet security $0 AR+FS...Refurb 7" Netbook $45 !!!

What a great deal on these two items.  First we have Norton Internet Security 2012 3-User for PC for free after a $50 MIR.  The rebate is a Visa prepaid credit card.  Seems like most of the MIR's are going this way now. 

Now for the real interesting one.

A refurb Sylvania 1GHz 7" Netbook for $45 + free shipping. Now Sylvania doesn't exactly stand out as a computer company.  But considering $45 and free shipping !!!  Yeah, I'm giving it a shot. Here are the specs on it.

Arm 11 1GHz processor, 7" 800x480 LED-backlit LCD, 512MB RAM, 2GB hard drive, 802.11n wireless, memory card reader, and Windows Embedded Compact 7.

Now don't forget that this is a netbook, it only has a 2GB HD. So this net stuff only.  But of course you can use USB drives for storage and you can get some USB based programs to extend your storage.  But of course most now are using web based programs such as Google Docs so the PC as we know it is changing very fast.

On yeah...the Netbook has an  MicroSD card slot (up to 32GB) so you can get some nice storage space that way also.....Uh-oh......I need to post a deal on a 32GB card now !!!!!!!!!!!

Oh hell the card is already there.  When you click on the netbook deal look to the right side.  They have a 32gb micro card listed.  Not sure what class it is though.  I prefer a class 10 and with this price point I imagine it's a class 4.  Higher class the faster the speed is.

Ok, here is a class 10 32gb card micro card for $35.  Card is almost as much as the Netbook.  You can get more bang for the buck with USB drives but you do have that nasty problem of possibly snapping the suckers off where they stick out.  Yes I have done this a few times myself.   You could get the low profile ones though.  But they do cost more.

Yes it is, I would not post a bogus deal.  They just know that a good deal of people will screw up and not send in the MIR in ontime or do it wrong.

Glad it worked for you.  I think it's an age divide on this.  A good deal doesn't understand that this is just really for online stuff.  It's not meant to run many programs off of or for storage. But as I said before you can have some storage if you use SD cards or USB drives. It's for online and that's about it, plus it's nice to have one setting in the living room or kitchen for fast web access.
