The mail system has never ever let me down.I think I am 19-0 and it is always fun to pick it up at the front desk!!! 62 yr old and always fun to have weed on a trip!!!

I'd like to hear the explanation behind that statement.  People of all cultures and all ages have been smoking cannabis for centuries on end.

I would guess the weed sucks in Arizona... not the right growing conditions...

very easy to empty large pill caps and fill with ground grass. only takes a few minutes. I did this and was sitting alone in the Tulsa airport heading to vegas and two police or other security with dogs were coming toward me,so i got up and went to the bathroom for a few minutes ,I came out and they were gone.Those dogs are have keen abilities if trained for happy smoke.

TSA security officers do not search for marijuana or other drugs. In the event a substance that appears to be marijuana is observed during security screening, TSA will refer the matter to a law enforcement officer.
Whether or not marijuana is considered legal under local law is not relevant to TSA screening because TSA is governed by federal law. Federal law provides no basis to treat medical marijuana any differently than non-medical marijuana.



TSA does look for drugs and drug paraphernalia. I worked at an airport. I don't know how many times I heard stories of stoners getting busted at the airport when I worked there.

When the TSA finds a pipe, bong, or drugs of any kind it is reported to the airport police. The airport police have the exact same powers as any other police officer.

They are not security guards or mall cops. Airport cops go through the same police academy as all cops do. Airport cops can detain you and book you into a county jail just like any other cop.

I pack in my luggage or carry all the time. Never have a problem. It's weed, not a bomb.

Anyways let me preface this by saying I am a weed smoker so this isn't an anti-weed thing but carrying it on the plane is definitely "grow up" worthy. You're risking losing your whole trip AND getting arrested over an eighth of weed, that's immature thinking right there. Trust me, Ive been on tons of trips without weed and some times it has really sucked but this risk just isn't worth the reward, period. He would be better off putting some time in somehow trying to find some kind of connection there before he even left than trying to take it on. Pre-9/11 you just put the stuff in your pocket and walk on but stuff is different now obviously and those TSA losers would LOVE to ruin this guys trip over an eighth.

I'm not even ripping the OP at all, but it is definitely a tad immature to be doing this

Don't see why you can't just tape a small bag to the side of your foot and then put your socks and shoes on.  Your shoes go through the X-ray and you keep your socks on when you walk through the scanner.  

That said, I'm not a risk taker and why not just mail it and have the package waiting for you when you arrive.  Not to mention, you could probably get hooked up within asking 3 well chosen people at your destination.  Not hard to spot an understanding chap...even if they can't hook you up, they aren't going to give you a hard time and might be able to give you a referral.

Like I said, it depends on the local situation.   Texas is stricter than CA would be.  

If it was Oakland, the airport cops would know the DA does not want to prosecute for small amounts, so they would confiscate the weed and give you a warning and you'd probably not even miss your flight.

Texas is "tough on drugs" so you could easily spend the night in jail for the same amount.  In Oklahoma, you'd probably get 2 years in prison.

Good point. Texas does have a stupid Joe Arpaio approach to drugs.

I saw people get treated like Muslim terrorists for pot at the airport. I witnessed a 62 year old man, that was a cancer patient, get busted for medical pot.

He was treated like a hardened criminal. I was enraged. The man and his wife were in tears. It was really tough to watch. The authorities showed absolutely no remorse or compassion.

It made me sick.

Yep, grow up. Smoking weed is fine by me, but how many "responsible adults" would risk having dope smuggler on their work resume?

 

Its simply not worth it.

 Cmon.......when is the last time anyones carry-on bag got searched even by mistake? I usually just throw it in my golf bag & have never had any issues, but I've left it in my carry-on with all my toiletries & no one even blinked.
 I can understand being uncomfortable if you've never done it before, but trust me, it's no big deal. Of course we're talkin a small amount here, not moving a lb. or anything.

I don't care what anyone says about how easy it is. Bringing weed on an airplane is incredibly risky and dumb. I'll put it in the same category as betting on a -1500 moneyline. It might work everytime but that one time it doesn't you will learn the hard way. Use to smoke all the time, not anti bud at all.

luckily california is next door. The weed is very good in zona. No1 grows it outside anyway



It was easy. Besides a lil anxiety there were no issues. Of course, my pal I was meeting out there for business had a quarter of green crack waiting for me when we met up. I really didn't want to reach out to him like an addict after all these years and beg for him to find me nug. Not a great way to start a business relationship. I knew he used to smoke years ago but thought he quit when he had his kids. He was laughing when I told him I smuggled in drugs sweating bullets like an idiot. Live and learn.

I put it in a rolled up sock double bagged in a pile of about 7 socks and tons of clothes barely able to fit in my check in bag. It really isn' a big deal. Between me, my friends, and family we have done it over a 100 times without any hiccups. Flying out of NY if they found it they'd probably throw it out bc of how tiny the amount is or contact local authorities where you'd get a ticket and probably still make your flight. It really isn't a big deal. You'd probably get it expunged in a few years when weed is legal anyway if you did.
