Daily Fantasy Sports vs Poker rake

Signed up for fan duel a couple weeks ago and it's pretty fun. I'm playing for chump change but what stood out is the rake.

Fan Duel head to head 1 dollar to win .80 cents

WSOP Online head to head 1 dollar to .90 cents

By all means if Fan Duel can get the most money from players they can they should. I just wonder if the average to below averages players get tired of taking their lumps and end up playing amongst friends rake free or whatever. 

The idea and marketing is brilliant, but as a player it's -EV unless you're elite.

Some of the earlier entrants in DFS (Daily Joust, Draftstreet) got by on a 10% rake. But when heavily financed Fan Duel and Draft Kings bought them all up, we're stuck with 20%. It's unreasonably high, but the market dictates the rate, and the market keeps growing. That may change in time. Right now, we need more choices in the form of competition.

No way 20% is sustainable for these companies.  Yahoo and CBS entering the space that rake is definitely coming down.

I've heard of people agreeing on twitter to play H2H using a free game on fanduel and then settle up via paypal. 

However, one of the parties had his fanduel account suspended when the company found out what he was doing. Turns out someone ratted on him for some reason. 

Requires using the honor system for sure but you can definitely bypass the rake by doing this.
